can you please tell me the size of socket you used? was it a 17mm or 19? Also, I have a son your son's age and I loved the dynamic there going on, great dad teaching a young man to that type of labor, two thumbs up to both there. great work, also liked very much the camera work, steady, good focusing etc, congrats!

Can this be done without pulling the engine without a gigantic amount of headache? I’ve got a lift, I feel like it’s doable, but I haven’t found any examples of people doing it this way.
@teamtrimm4461
@teamtrimm4461 8 ай бұрын
Perhaps if you were just changing the oil pump but for a complete rebuild I think it's easier just to pull the whole motor. For more experience person this has to be one of the easiest engines to get out.
@ethang6735

You can do the oil pump without pulling the motor for sure, but the pan is a pain right in the ass to get on properly with it on a lift. But then again, so is any pan when your trying to hold it up lol. I did mine laying on the ground though, so perhaps im a bit biased when I say its a pain

I’m in a very similar situation, I have a port that needs shaving on the bottom edge to fit the rear passenger bolt. I watched your video as I was preparing to apply RTV to see what I needed to look for. After watching your binding/fitment issue I decided to test fit the intake without RTV and discovered the need to shave off the lower section of the port to clear the bolt. Unfortunately the heads are bolted down so I will be going at it with a dremel and vaccum. I think you said you applied RTV to bolt hole, is that right? For reference these are 4.0 iron ITM brand heads. Bottom passenger port for intake bolt needs additional material shaved to fit bolt.

Your channel makes me sad. It has superior information that is USEFUL yet only 440 subscribers. The sad part is, if you were making an informative video, then going off and doing something insanely stupid with it, you would get more. (please don't do that btw) Most of the comments too, they are from people like me that just want to know about their machine. I too have an LT 160 that I am desperately trying to make run. I need it to go from where I live to where I get essential items like groceries and meds 8 miles away. Walking that 8 miles is brutal. It's late may and already 100 f outside during the day. Watching what you have done to make your LT 160 run tip top has been very informative. Thank you. KZfaq needs more like you.

First of all great video , very helpful. It looks like I have the same carb. How would I go about getting a rebuild kit? I can’t read my vin to find out my year of my 160. If your Corsair Harpoon has a double clicking issue it isn't because it's dirty it's because it's a bug with the latest firmware update 3.13, to fix this you'll need to search up corsair harpoon double click fix and you'll find an easy to follow guide.

I replaced struts few weeks ago, and today I just replaced the shocks. There was serious tire wire on all 4 tires, because shocks and struts were bad. Everything seems to be going very smooth now. The process was the same for my vehicle as well. Also good to know your car is still going strong!

Looking forward to it! Thanks for doing these videos. I picked up two of these a couple months ago. Lots to learn! Thanks also for the link to pdf of the manual. How do I remove the air filter trap? Seems like it should be easy but? Also found one airbox with 1/2" of oil with gas smell. Guessing this is a valve issue or blocked case vent line?
@teamtrimm4461
@teamtrimm4461 Жыл бұрын
Not really sure on the air filter trap as mine was remove by an animal be fore we got the 4 wheeler. Maybe someone in the comments has more info on this. Now the oil in there might be a check valve on the crank case vent hose. It could also mean there is a ton of blow-by. If the engine runs keep an eye on the oil level. If its burns oil might be time for a new piston and rings.
@EdgarHammer847
@EdgarHammer847 Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Engine runs, no smoke so I didnt think about rings. Bogs on throttle but had been running and riding so I assumed carb. Saw your video and decided to clean/rebuild. I will still do that and change/monitor oil. First I'll have to look for a check valve and breather line. No PCV valve like on an auto engine, I don't believe. Thanks again!
