1) you never decant pinot noir 2) you never swirl a decanter

Great minds think alike I discovered this about 2 years ago and am so happy I did! Taste it then wait for the bubbles to completely dissipate and taste it again!! I have started brother Scotch Bourbon Whiskey any alcohol I drink straight! It's an amazing process that works wonders!!

I bought a bottle of Bertrand Cote Des Roses Rosé. It tasted like liquified cardboard. I poured it out.

I call BS. The 2020 had an overwhelming nose of mint chewing gum and taste like you just walked away from a bonfire. It was one of the worst wines of 2020

Nice. I’ve stayed away from red blends because I’m not a fan of Zin and a few I see blend with it obviously, like Prisoner. Not a fan of Prisoner anymore at all, but that’s another story all together w that company... The way you’re describing this wine though is right up my alley. May give it a try, hopefully it changes my mind.

thank you! I could not open it at all even though I was fairly sure I knew what I was doing-- turns out the way I was gripping when pulling was the problem!

Can you leave a bottle vertical for a few days to let the sediment settle at the bottom before opening?

Prisoner WAS good until it was sold years ago. Now it’s seriously overrated imo.

100%agree with you 👍 and Caymus wine is also overpriced and overrated, I think🧐 I love reasonably priced, yet great red blends such as 689 series and conundrum😊 Peace and Love from Japan 🇯🇵

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Do you know if it is "across the board" that Greco di Tufo does not allow malolactic fermentation? Or are you just referring to this particular vintner?

Good to know. I do have the cork stuck in my Winged Corkscrew and it won't. Is there a way to remove the cork besides grabbing the cork and try to unscrew it out? I do want to save the cork. Thanks.

Everything said about this wine in this review is a flat out lie. Caymus is straight up mass-produced swill with the mouthfeel of maple syrup.
@WineLover77578Ай бұрын
Interesting you say Maple Syrup. My taste profile was "overwhelming Cherry NyQuil". We are probably tasting the same syrupy added sugar (it´s not residual, I think it´s added to match the super sweet taste profile of their customer).

A Master Sommelier (who was quietly chuckling as those of us in the workshop argued) told us that if we couldn't agree on whether a Pinot was Old World or New World, it was probably Oregon. We laughed because we had a nearly 50/50 split on the origin of the particular Pinot we were blind tasting. That being said, I'd now have to put New Zealand in that either/or category. Otago is doing a great job!
