So I’ve been eyeing this set up for like ever! Literally, the most practical vehicle in the entire world for a working family man. Apparently in Wisconsin I have to drive to like California to get this set up for a new van. Where do you live and how hard was it to get this crew van set up for yourself? Were you able to order it from the factory with the crew package?
@PunkUncleShow5 ай бұрын
I lived in central California at the time, bought the van at the Ram dealership in Watsonville. They we’re getting them in equipped that way in the summer of 21. I had seen it first at the dealership in Turlock, but they were already spoken for. Then came across the same setup over near the coast and was able to grab her.

@@PunkUncleShow "cheap" now because of black friday also. i'm pretty sure they don't normally discount these too much, but for about $200 now I can get an external along with a loam lever and cables. Hello, I am writing this with a translation program, if there are any errors I apologize. I just had a question? I have the same bike, namely a PRO-FORM smartpower 10.0, similar to your video on KZfaq. When I start my bike I see the IFIT logo and after a few seconds I get a white screen. The bike has always worked well, but currently I only see a white screen when I normally have to get the page with the different training sessions. Can one also reset that bicycle? Or if the screen is broken, can it be ordered afterwards and where? Can you help me out? I have the same screen as in the video on KZfaq. Thank you in advance and kind regards. Guy

Man I’m like smack dab in between the L and XL. Demo’d both and the XL just felt too big, but the L was a tad small too. Looking at other brands that recommends up to 6’3 for their L, with basically the same reach/stack/geo. The Mtb community seems split on sizing up or down
@PunkUncleShow11 ай бұрын
It’s definitely a personal thing. My background is MX so I’ve always preferred a little longer reach than what is often specified. I like a little more room in the cockpit. Others feel a larger/longer bike is harder to turn. You can use a stem change to narrow in one way or the other as well. When I shop, reach is basically how I determine the size I want. If you know what you’re already used to, maybe figure out whether you’re more comfortable going longer or shorter from there? Thanks for watching. Let me know what you end up going with and how it works out!

@@PunkUncleShowsounds good man thanks for the reply. I’m leaning towards the L, but am gonna rent one for a day to make sure I really love it. It’s around 1” in wheelbase difference so I doubt stability will be that affected on the L, and I do ride quite a bit of tech. Good review man!

@@PunkUncleShow few years ago I had SR Suntour NCX suspension seatpost, it was really quality made and simply to set up and use. Feeling in ride was really amazing and you can set it to be softer or harder depending on your needs. Now I am in search for dropper and this model is perfect blend of suspension sestpost and dropper. Now I must find out if my frame can take inside routed, external or half internal and half external, or to drill it. Must carefully figure it out. @PunkUncleShow Жыл бұрын
Hey Gary! I sold the bike a while back, but it went to a friend and I see it on the trail or Facebook regularly 😁 Those wheels are so good I actually had another set custom built for my EVIL Following. On both bikes they have been really dependable and I’m a heavier rider as well (210-215 depending on what point in the ride it is 😆). With the Ripmo AF in particular, I felt the wheel upgrade for $800 was a great deal for getting that bike to ride way above its pay grade. To be fair, I haven’t ridden their aluminum rims, so I can’t give you a direct comparison perspective, but on their own…great wheels. Thanks for watching brother!

Thanks man! I’d go medium personally, but EVIL might say otherwise. You’re kind of where I am on their charts, being right at the edges of size recommendations. I say buy based on the reach you like, because the cockpit feel is super important to me.

I have this post in the 30.9x150mm version. Best one out there for ease of adjustment in changing dropper length. The problem I have is that a very low torque on the seat post bolts results in freezing up the seat post. Anything over about 2NM prevents it from dropping, or if dropped, from coming up. Have you had this issue?
@PunkUncleShow Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I haven’t had that issue at all. My post is about 1.5 years old now. I would definitely reach out to PNW and see what they say. Good luck 🤘🏼

@PunkUncleShow Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I get kind of tired of how long it takes to find a ride I want to do as well. Most of the other issues I was having have either been fixed or improved since my review. The power meter is completely inaccurate on mine, but other than that, it’s been great considering the price.

I know it's only cosmetic, but I do like to keep my things looking nice when I can. And that it's orange is a great color. Maybe if I get one I'll have to go to the silver so all the chips and stuff isn't as noticeable.

Me either. I’m not in charge of the ratings, because that would be a blue. If you ride the very upper part of it. Good review. I've got a v3 Following that I love. Thinking about replacing a v1 Ripmo with the new Wreckoning or Insurgent MX. Have you tried to ride it with a 29 up front? Just curious as I've only ridden 29ers for the last 5 years and wonder what it would be like to ride mullet. Rock on! \m/
@PunkUncleShow2 жыл бұрын
Sadly, but maybe not, I haven’t switched to the mullet yet. Only due to life/business being completely insane the last several months, not because I haven’t wanted to. It’s realistically probably not gonna happen til Fall now. HOWEVER, I’ve come to love 27.5 life! Since you have a Following (me too), you don’t have to ride the big bike on long pedal days and the 27.5 Insurgent is a super well mannered, yet rowdy rig for enduro or shuttle days. I think the mullet might help with speed a little bit and obviously be nice on steep tech, but the little front is super nimble at speed and makes it feel really quick. It’s a blast.
