This virtual space that you've created dedicated to kindness and community has helped me and many others feel connected and not alone at this time. A big culmination for me is feelings how beliefs/actions around community can either challenge or reinforce the status quo. Thank you for creating this alternative community space that feels especially healthy and in alignment at this time. As a fellow cappy sun, you forever inspire me to remain grounded in all my passions and anxieties around changemaking. I do not know how to talk about politics in the US with my family right now. It feels very icky and divisive as the political left is so scattered and worried while the right has been so organized & not in an aligned way. There is intense volatility in the skies right now, primarily due to multiple activations of Eros in Leo (to bodies like Uranus, Mars, Algol, and the Galactic Center). Whilst people often consider Eros as romance and love, truly, it is any deep primal desire. Passion can be beautiful, but in excess, it can also drive a person to harm (themselves or another). Whilst all of us need to sit with the Heart's messages at this time, we also need to protect that which is authentic, vulnerable, and able to align us from within. Be circumspect in your actions and engagements with others now, especially if those around you are more likely to get caught up in an emotional frenzy. There is a better time to be more direct in confronting what we need to in the world around us, namely, the Full Moon in Capricorn, later in July. The work now is to stay centered through the maelstrom. It is easy to get distracted now, even in the name of causes such as social justice & activism. Know that there is a difference between playing into the hands of the status quo and doing things that can concretely make a difference in someone's life. For more information on the thinking behind this, look up Foucault's understanding of resistance. It opens the way up to looking at truly alternate means of engagement that do not simply fit into existing power dynamics and oppositional forces. I use the example of those who are wielding social media to create an alternate means of escape for families in Palestine as a concrete form of this. Political grandstanding - whilst it can make the ego feel great now - is not the best way to find a sustainable way forward. Be patient and focus on centering and grounding yourself over the next few days. There is a lot of uncertainty. Protect your Heart and your loved ones (of all species). Everyone is feeling it, and we all deserve safety in community. This is more of a time for observation and internal processing. Do what you can to help, but direct more concrete efforts towards systemic change later in the month.
