I stumbled upon your piano lessons recently and loved them. Then I saw how few videos you posted and how long ago those were put up. I got really sad really quick! THEN I saw the date on this post and it immediately lifted my spirts! I'm glad you're still around! You have a gift for teaching!

John played a different fingering, and on beat 4 left hand an E , I missed that one, and pls read all the rest of my video description also regarding the D which I added for electric pianos to replace the D overtone which can be heard on the recording;-)

Thanks for teaching me how to play this song. This is the piece I chose to start learning. As a beginner, my goal is now, after watching at your tutorial, to play it the way you do. I have also learnt that its little nuances are the perfect match of simple chords, which makes a song great! Regards from Peru!🙏🎹🙏

@gwenpozen4950
@gwenpozen4950 4 ай бұрын
Yes he’s definitely using the sustain peddle, try to release and press it again quickly on every chord change (not during alternating within the same chord) to keep the melody clean. Good luck and have fun!

@@msyarif1397 I'm mastering it now too. Without sustain pedal, the lick in the verse sounds very stiff. Definitely need to use it throughout to smooth things out.

Thanks to your tutorials I finnaly started to play and understand a bit better my piano. I tried many time many years ago but it didn't work much for me, so thank you very much for being such a patient teacher! also maybe you can adwise something how to lernt o read notesheets fast? it is not that I don't know the rules and where they are, but it takes time to count the lines, and it feelsthat there should be some kind of trick that makes it easier, please.

many thanks for your comment. Good you keep on with the piano. regarding notesheets: there is a method using sight view and landmarks, check out this page: www.nkoda.com/blog/how-to-read-music-faster, or this one, she is a little stiff, but I like the approach: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aadmgcaTuLDUeIk.html All The Best, Birdmann

Just retired and finally have time to practice. Tried 30 years ago with a teacher, but was taught using a kids book. Boring and no time to practice. Been a fan since Joanne Castle on L Welk. Your not slow, but very slow rt. and left hands were awesome. When you combined the hands I'm lost. You repeated it many times, but for me I couldn't do it. One to one beats I can do, but out of sink or doubles or triplets, I am totally lost. What I need is freeze frame hand changes. That would be awesome. It only has to be done once and hit pause to learn it. Could your next tutorial be a walking bass with both hands very,very slow somehow? Absolutely loved the walking bass or any left hand riff and your ending.

Hi James, thank you for your interest in learning the blues. Have you tried this: Loop and slow down the parts of the lesson you especially want to rehearse very slowly: Install this browser addon. It does a great job on html videos: youxube.com/en/controller.html

@@feuerbussard Thank you for the quick response and especially for enlightening me on this Ext. After to long of time to learn most of the nuances, it is much better than just the speed control. Already was able to use it at 27 seconds, but ya didn't finish it! Left DEFF#G alt. octaves up , then back down, but what would the right look like? G chord. At 37 second not a clue. Blue's scale going up, and the walking bass, but gets to muddy to distinguish what is hit and when. I want to learn it. I will be looking back at your videos again.Thanks again.

I came across your "Imagine" piano tutorial. I've looked up so many tutorials on KZfaq and people make it so hard to see what their doing with their fingers in the way and they aren't consistent. Yours is perfect and I love how you go slow and you go over it multiple times. I saved your video to my favorites and will be learning the song from you. I was hoping you'd have a piano tutorial on "If I ain't got you" by Alicia Keys. I've been learning it but struggle on the start of the chorus (intro doing Arpeggios is easy for me). I'm not skilled enough yet to do this amazing "blues and boogie"
