Do you think adding a proper plastic compression screw might be useful? It certainly would add to the cost unless we could make cast versions as DIY projects

I know the full-scale extruders usually use water baths. but with the extrusion (filament) being so thin, it's going to cool pretty quickly even without water. Perhaps even misting or a cool breeze will be enough to cool the plastic.
@JasonBlack66Ай бұрын
you've made a proper miniature extruder. looks just like the gigantic ones at work only tiny.
@gremlinbumidang84132 ай бұрын
you cooled it by running it in water? isnt that counter productive since all fillaments needs to be dry as possible sans moisture?

I am in desperate need of information that online ai ebay and other are absolutely no help. First i know there are many variables but i need sone place to start. I need a gearbox to hook up to a small shredder designed for a hand crank. I want to hook up either a bema 34 stepper or servo of which i have each. I also have a 2 hp “1500kw” servo. Lathe and mill to adapt motor to gearbox but i just have no idea what gearbox i need. Saw a video that was using to planetary and stepper but no info on gearbox. I need a model ir something to start looking at. I can get scooter gearboxes snd other i just beed some idea. How much torque do i need for shredding 3d prints

In which world this make sense to use? Buy expensive filament to cut it to cheaper pellets? Waste of developing time.

The Filastruder winder works better. You're pulling on soft filament and stretching it, so it'll never be true.

Dial gauge is better to use you can see long harmonics on the extrusion...

Did you drill a hole in the bottom metal part of the diatom spray gun for the pipe to go out the back? They do not look like they come with holes on both sides. Also it would be nice to know the sizes and specifics on each part if you wanted to build it. A lot of this looks to be based on the Lyman filament extruder though and you can find plans for that.
@en2oh9 ай бұрын
man o' man, you have some crazy CAD skills! Great Job! Have you made any progress on your extruder in terms of filament diameter control?
@en2oh9 ай бұрын
again, a GREAT project! You might consider reducing the feed speed from the 'filament driver' so that the pieces of filament are smaller. Some of them seem to be coming out quite long. Perhaps a change in the gear ratio?
