@RichieTheFoodie
@RichieTheFoodie 9 күн бұрын
Hiya! Yes, slightly, depends on the thickness of your log. To be honest, I’d make the whole lot as it freezes so well. Just slice it all up and freeze what you don’t want. Defrost and fry off when you want it. Thanks so much for stopping by 😀🙋🏻‍♂️RTF

My cooker came with a recipe booklet. For rice: 1 cup water & 2 cups long grain rice. Cook for 12 minutes and let stand for 2 minutes. 950 watt microwave. Mine isn’t that wattage so I’m doubling the time.

I bought one, not very good, can easily make the bread hard and chewy, you need to get your timings perfect. Its easier to just toast some nice bread and slip in some ham and a slice of cheese - it tastes better
@RichieTheFoodie
@RichieTheFoodie 18 күн бұрын
Hi Mark, I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. I’ve not experienced this. You’re right it is a little bit of trial and error at first but once you’ve got the timings right with your microwave you seem to get very decent results every time. I guess another selling point of this is the convenience. You can make your sandwich up in advance put it in your lunchbox and heat at work, saving time on your lunch break. Thanks for watching and for supporting the channel. 🙋🏻‍♂️😀RTF

The biggest issue I had with this recipe is how fine the Thermomix processes the hamburger. It felt more like I was eating a very course gravy than chili. As an American, I felt that the seasoning was way under. Rather than a half a teaspoon of cumin, we use 2 tablespoons and a similar amount of chili powder. It also needed a lot more salt. Finally, it's a bit watery so before time was up on cooking the hamburger, I added 2 tablespoons of flour with about five minutes left, to allow it to cook the raw flour 0:43 flavoring out and then added a little beef broth which tightened up the chili somewhat. Sorry, but I will be going back to my enameled cast-iron Dutch oven for chili.
@RichieTheFoodie
@RichieTheFoodie 22 күн бұрын
Hey there. I do agree, it does lack some seasoning, like a lot of other tm6 recipes do. I guess most of them are classed as ‘to taste” when it comes to seasoning. And sure, you do get better results cooking a traditional chilli recipe on the hob, I guess this version is a quick and easy fix. I highly recommend the Sri Lankan beef curry. I’ve a video here on the channel. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts, I really do appreciate it. All the best to you 🙋🏻‍♂️😀RTF

@RichieTheFoodie
@RichieTheFoodie 24 күн бұрын
Hi Sylvia. When cooking meat etc, the blade should be going in reverse. If you look at the blade speed selector, there should be a small green arrow signaling that the blade is in reverse. When your blade is in reverse, this will prevent it from chewing up your meat. Also try and break the mince up as best you can before adding it to the bowl. I hope this helps 🙋🏻‍♂️😀RTF

Cooking rice normally is a pain and inconsistent? Boil 2x water, add rice, give it a spin (i don't even rinse rice, just stir it a bit), med heat covered for 20minutes white, 30 brown, is just too tricky, eh? Edit: Hey, acknowledged the normal method makes better rice, nice.

I am actually going to do this tomorrow but a bit different. I also have problem with the TM6 that it is clumping the meat so I brown it in a pan but all other prep is done in in the TM6 and then I transfer everything too cook the sauce in a slow cooker for 6 hours. It tastes divine after a slow long cook, it's hard to not eat it out of the bowl.
