Isrealian contestants and press people were annoying towards other people(especially Joost) so mister Estrogen needs fixing and the worst part is that each contest has five random countries as jury about disqualification of contestants and mister Estrogen is the one that gets convinced by opinions of those judges… smh.

I didn’t realise that everyone got booed at Martin Österdahi (Head of EBU), not just the Pro-Palestinian protest and UK has imfamous 0 points for the poor set up and the vocals but Dutch contestant Joost Klein got disqualified as well. Cornald Maas reacts was pure gold and he deserves an Oscar for that. And Graham Norton said “Not happy with the EBU this year”. And now everyone including Bambie Thug is hating the EBU as well as Eurovision now, because of it. I watched Eurovision all my life. What an outrages month i’ve been watching.

It's interesting that the commentators and the Netherlands public service company are reacting so strongly. Shouldn't they be impartial to an alleged crime?

what a lot of people are missing is the fact that the dutch delegation, on numerous occasions, asked specifically for joost not to be filmed after his performance. it was literally their only request and the ebu and the camera woman completely ignored that and disrespected his wishes. this is also the reason why so many people are mad. the ebu keeps talking about a safe environment and zero tolerance but they completely ignore that when it comes to the competing artists.

Why? They are not a judge. Unfortunately this was a horrible year and not because of the entrees. Political games were played. The commentators were part of the team the election team and broadcasters. They have every right to say there side. This was rediculous! Martin is good to go ... and never come back. We will not forget! I hope we won't participate in 2025! And we should get our money back! Switzerland was a rightful winner though.

It's sad to see Nemo also react badly, apparently they had to be explained why Martin was the one giving the votes but they had already been told why Joost wasn't there competing and interacting with the other contestants, and it looks like they miss him - if not as a friend, at least as someone who was nice to have around.

I'm sorry to be that guy but someone needs to address the elephant in the room. In 2024 the talent does not get a free pass to engage in abusive behaviour with any of the crew on any professional production, anywhere. It's not the 1960s any more, it's not tolerated. Ask anyone in the industry. Joost's case went before the Eurovision's working group. It was an independent decision & unanimous, one that no person directed or made alone. They obviously felt Joost's behaviour met the high bar for disqualification. Stop politicising the competition, you are ruining something I deeply care about & have enjoyed since I was 5 years old (1994 was my first time watching the competition).
@Vince1648
@Vince1648 2 ай бұрын
Do you have any idea what happens off stage? How many countries altready have filed official complaints? Answer: Its 12 now, and counting. Joost was harrased by someone shoving a camera in his face without his consent. The woman was asked three times to stop filming. And even before Joost went on stage he made very clear that he didn't want to be filmed right after his performance, since the last part is extremely emotional for him. I say F*ck the whole Eurovision. For me Joost was the clear winner, he's been robbed.
@Gfynbcyiokbg8710

@@Vince1648None of those reports have anything to do with the production crew. And your reasoning very flawed. 1 We still know very little and most of what you just said hasn't been confirmed. Any non-police account of the incident is just going to be hearsay or biased. 2 Even if you believe some of the most pro-Joost accounts of the incident, it is extremely unlikely that that would be considered harassment. 3 If his team knew that he gets this emotional after performances, which they clearly did, why weren't they there to support him? Events like this are chaotic, things go wrong, there are miscommunications, etc. so any decent delegation would have been there to ensure that he wasn't disturbed. 4 Joost was never going to win.(Assuming that countries in semi 2 voted the same in the final) Joost would have had to get 12 televote points from all semi 1 countries AND get over 150 jury points to win, which is just impossible. And this whole scandal probably just improved his image.
@JonathanMcDonnellALT
@JonathanMcDonnellALT 2 ай бұрын
@@Vince1648 so because someone didn't get the memo, they deserved to be threatened? He should have left the area and filed a complaint. The reason there have been so many complaints is because these people have politicised the competition by trying to exclude Israel. It's none of their business. If you don't like how the competition is run then don't put yourself forward to compete. Once you do, you leave politics at home. Ffs the competition had worked well for 67 years before these people ruined it. I hope the EBU update their codes of conduct so that contestants may not use the Eurovision platform to push a political agenda or to isolate any delegation for any reason. That by submitting themselves for participation they accept the right of all countries who are members of the EBU and who follow the rules of the competition to participate free from hindrance and without judgement. For many years many of the countries in the competition have had frost relations with each other. The Ireland/Northern Ireland troubles happened throughout the competition. I don't remember the Irish and British delegations ever playing politics. The UK won in Ireland when they hosted the competition in 1981. People knew how to be professional back then.

It's impossible for a competition that pits countries against each other to not be political. The trick is to not let it take over, which they failed at.

I fear nothing will happen with this "incompetente bende". You can already see it in the communication they are sending out. They will have a word with broadcasters about some irregularities. How arrogant can you be? Many have said for years it is match-fixing, and I always argued against it because I couldn't believe it. But especially last year was kinda odd to me. Since Martin is in charge they openly gave attention to some songs they wanted to win. Last year it was clearly Sweden and for multiple times they set the minds of the voters to cast a vote for Sweden. Mentioning the ABBA anniversary, telling that Loreen would be the first female artist winning twice, the comparison to number of wins with Ireland, ... it could be seen as irrelevant by many, but it works on the emotions of people and is thus influential. This year they did the same for Luxembourg, while the voting was still going on. They have given them a forum which isn't fair to the others. It didn't matter this year (I guess), but is is not done because it is unfair. Also don't you find it odd that it is known for weeks already that Sweden will be playing first in the final (it was selected by random draw) and suddenly they have a rule saying: we are going to play the summary during the voting in reverse order, so the first song is last in the review... I don't recall that this happened when Jon Ola was still in charge.
