The fact that he's wearing a Johnny Thunders T-shirt says it all.

S his father basically got an older woman to sexually abuse Anthony as a young boy. No wonder he has such a fascination now with very young women in his 60s and isn't able to grow up.

What a terrible disgraceful parent. I'm surprised Child Protective Services was not called on him and taken his child away.

A lot of babyboomer parents who got beat treated their gen-x kids more like friends. People who were traumatized as children tend to overcorrect, and although it comes from a place of love, it does more harm than good for the child growing up and trying to navigate an f’d up society towards adulthood.

This is very sad to watch, I really feel for this guy. It’s so easy to criticise parents for their dysfunctional parenting without knowing or even bothering to think what they experienced from their own parents, and how they combat it and try not relay it to their own kids. Right from the start you can see Blackie is still suffering greatly from the abuse he suffered as a kid and it looks like his mental and emotional age is stuck at the age he was at the time of his abuse, and I can only assume he took all that pain to the grave. It sounds for a brief moment like Blackie is gloating and taking credit for his son’s eventual success, but I think it’s defensiveness in response to the interviewer’s questions. Overall his love for his son is real and he is humbled and vulnerable. I dont believe there’s anything fake about his emotions. I think he did exceptionally well to still be alive though, and I wonder how much of his longevity was thanks to Anthony.

I had parents who didnt care what I did, literally had to raise myself. I had no siblings that would've been my age so I was alone. I consider myself lucky that I was really, really shy. It spared me from so much trouble as a teen. But at around 19 I met my first actual boyfriend and since I had no experience of what people are like or parents who would've given me some advice I trusted him blindly, that was the beginning of alot of problems.

Blackie is a different man. He doesn’t fit into the society normally naturally, he wasn’t gonna sit on us arse n do nothing, if anything him and Anthony had a great time plus Anthony is always been very intelligent he would of known what’s going on around him

Life Lessons: Don't be best friends with your children. Especially if you are an out of control drug addict. Anthony succeeded in spite of Blackee. Nature beats bad nurturing here.

Narcissist 101. “He started blaming me….Well…” Dude! You definitely made A LOT of mistakes. Put on your big boy pants and take some responsibility for using your child as a prop and the inappropriate situations that you exposed your young, impressionable child to. Listening to this guy makes my skin crawl. Icky dude!

It makes you think Anthony was groomed into his lifestyle by his own father… Anthony was having sex with younger girls, because when he was young he was having sex with older girls, who his dad was bringing around.. who was much older than these said younger girls. Its a vicious cycle. And Anthony has sexually been expressing himself since he was 12 years old, and its always been a part of his personality. Listen to his songs, and music. Listen to his interviews in the 80s and 90s… his entire world and lifestyle was based upon sexual feeling and emotions. Read his book… 80% is about women and sex. Hes fascinated by the female and male organs of love

Blackie was a scumbag and a sociopath. Total degenerate. Mark Lanegan details a creepy interaction with Blackie in his memoir. When you creep out early 1990’s drug addict Lanegan to the point he flees from your home, you are pretty much in vampire territory.

Dude clearly feels like he should be thanked for exposing his child to drugs and statutory rape. He all but said that exposing his child to all of those things is what made him the big rock star he became. Like there's no way Anthony made his way IN SPITE of the crippling addiction and warped sense of sex brought on by his dad.

blackie is what we used to call a drug-addled scumbag. he's not without some redeeming qualities, but if he gave an interview on all this and his son were not famous, were just a wasted adult drug addict nobody, wouldnt most people think his father really fell down on the job?
