Good advice. Starting position always hands up. My own method was arms semi folded but ready. The body twist or thrust is key to final application of the strike. I survived nearly three decades as an officer with HMPS using exactly these methods but the average 'hard man' in the street is usually shanked up and will stab you for no reason. It seems fashionable now to stab first to show how tough you are. My best advice is to walk away whenever you can and avoid confrontation. Street fighting only looks cool in movies.

You ALWAYS want to punch/strike past/through your target(s). Basically, reach all the way for the spine, or as you said w/ the striking of the eyes, reach the back of the target's skull. My dad's shown me Wing Chung, Shotokhan, & Hopkido for the past 27yrs basically, & I also have a lil'bit of a Tai Chi & a wrestling background, plus I've learned how to fight with practically any & every weapon, from a stick, a kubotan, staff, nunchucks, tanffas, sais, swords of all sorts, knives of all sorts, & of course my favorite, firearms (as I'm a competitive firearms shooter). There's probably other weaponry I could've mentioned, but it slipped my mind since I've messed with so much my whole entire life, as it's kinda' hard somedays to keep track of everything. 🤣🤣😁👍 Self-defense training & tactics are an excellent skill that EVERYONE SHOULD LEARN, regardless of the form one wants to learn, JUST LEARN SOMETHING, & the thing is, is that you'll always keep learning, even if you know every kata & can break every single move down, or say it's w/ firearms & you can apparently shoot a sub M.O.A. group at 25yrds-30yrds or so, you'll always learn something new, either about yourself or something new about your weaponry of choice. Which is always great & fun, & you can make things even more complicated & intense, that way you can work w/ such better under particular situations or just while under stress in general, as a fight of any kind is always going to jack one up & put 'em under 1,000 TONS of stress, if not even more than that!!!

My insane rule: possible hidden weapon with slow advances towards me? I close the gap and tackle to the ground, preventing that hidden arm from swinging forward until I can see what's in it...and do it all quickly. (or even quicker, a super hard kick to the lower shin, knee, or center console area, and follow-up accordingly 😂)

In local news four men were sliced into 83 pieces, with thier heads missing after an altercation with a young couple. Eye witness reports the suspect is a white male with a brown fro & van dyke, wearing a purple kimono, brandishing an authentic japanese dai-katana sheathed in a red and purple scabbard. Witnesses say the 4 spanish latino men approached the couple, attempted to grope the woman, and told the man to f*** off. 9 to 12sec later, there was just a pile of body parts scattered and the couple took off with the severed heads. If you see this suspect, bow politely and say nothing.

It's a sucker punch, meaning you didn't know it was coming . Thus, there is no blocking. You gonna stand there with your arms up in an argument.

Divide and conquer … It would help if she know basic self defense and or simply carries pepper spray , but unless your a certified brawler as a man yourself your not gonna get out a 3v1 unscathed you’re most likely gonna get jumped. not to mentioning they have weapons that’s a whole other argument , but best bet is to divide and conquer to slow them down a bit. OR quickly strike and get the jump on all 3 of them , before they jump you.
@user-nh5xe1ob7d10 сағат бұрын
You’re either a runner or a fighter when it comes down to any inevitable fighting that could occur. So use that to your advantage if 3 guys look fat and overweight and are looking like they’re about to jump you, than you and her should both run away assuming the natural fit runner being you can conserve your breath and stamina better than the 3 fat men trying to jump you you should still know how to fight when it comes down to it but , you should run if possible to divide and conquer them and exhaust 3 fat guys at the same time… For some reason most women don’t run away from a fight when they are told to , they try stay and talk things out or cause a scene. So best bet as a man is to always carry an ccw equalizer weapon option or badge on you whenever possible. If she doesn’t run away in time.

Remember that asian guy teaching people how to defend themselves and he even displays very insane fast punches and attack, punching helmet visors off? And when he fought manny pacquiao he got schooled.. This is the same scenario with this guy teaching us how to deal with knife attacks. When reality kicks in, it will suck.. Since were talking about knives and not regulated boxing matches, the outcome will definitely be morbid.
