@BoardGameDave5 күн бұрын
I’m so excited for you to get Lancashire to the table! I’ve never played it personally but I know it’s very similar to Birmingham so I’m sure it’s great! 🚂 I’ve played Dune: Imperium and Eldervale but not Uprising-how does that compare to the original?
@mckeoncrawford92624 күн бұрын
@@BoardGameDave I haven't played Imperium base edition but from what I've seen Uprising has a bit better board balance, cards are less complicated, the new worms aspect to conflict is fantastic for huge rewards but requires multiple turns getting maker hooks and breaking a shield wall, and the spy mechanic adds even more fairness because you can prevent getting locked out of key spaces if you plan ahead. They now have control banners on several dune spaces that lets the winner of conflict over that area get a free solari or spice whenever anyone goes to that space. Every player starts with an objective icon card as well and every conflict card has one of three icons on it so every time you get a pair of icons you can turn them over for a free point. Helps incentivize players to get involved in conflicts with icons they only need one more of to get a match. I guess they also improved the hagal deck mechanics for improved solo/two player modes. I love solo mode and have played it over 10 times in the last week. Lancashire shall be the next game I dig into within the next week or so. I think Birmingham looks like the more aserhically pleasing Brass game but I read the two player quality is best in Lancashire and I struggle to get more than one other friend to play these kinds of games.

I’m at home with Covid and FINALLY got to playing Farshore solo along with your playthrough. Can I ask one rules question? How is it determined which map tiles the AI does and doesn’t take? Say there are two of the same tiles stacked on top of one another, does it take both? Or is it a left to right type of draw?
@BoardGameDave16 күн бұрын
I'm so sorry to hear that you've got Covid! 😣 Hope the symptoms aren't too bad-I'm glad you're able to do some gaming, at least! It's been a while since I've played Farshore solo but it looks like the solo AI usually takes all map tiles it qualifies for at the end of the season but players can only have one tile of each Map type-no duplicates. (pg. 6) Then in Autumn, Bonny claims any map she qualifies for that she doesn't already have after each card played. Seems like there shouldn't often be "ties" for the map tiles, but page 15 does say "'Reminder: Ties are always left to right, top to bottom." I hope that helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! ☺️

Recommendations: -Heat (6 players, 7 with expansion): The game gets more dynamic the more cars are present in the track thanks to the slipstream mechanic, as well as the fact that every player choose how much they'll push their engines simultaneously. Sheriff of Nottingham (5 players, 6 playe with merry men expansion and included in second edition): Lying is the name of the game, each turn a new sheriff must judge the honesty of the other players, and players are encouraged to bribe the sheriff to muddy their judgement. Fun game even when playing with strangers.

Noticed the video didn't have the new libertalia coins so here is my review of them. (Winds of galecrest metal coins) Libertalia: Winds of Galecrest is a board game that was created by stonemaier games as a remake of the older title "libertalia". It released alongside metal coins (separately) around year 2022, a whopping 10 years after the original. Because of this, not many have the metal coins. Note i havent played the game, i just own the coins*** COIN REVIEW A set of these come with 54 coins. 24x 1$ coins (copper) 18x 3$ coins (silver) 12x 5$ coins (gold) Weight: the largest coin weighs about 5 grams which is 0.56 grams less than an american quarter. The copper and silver coins weigh roughly more than a dime and penny each respectively. The stackability is a 5.5/10. The gold coins stack well and the silver stacks okay but the copper coins dont stack much over 3 or 4 coins. Mediocre stacking experience overall. The design and feel of the coins are well done. 8.2/10 This is subjective and i urge people to google image the coins first. I find these coins work well with many different games that use Low denominations. Overall these coins are great and affordable if you find a small sale. I wish they were half a gram heavier, but they are very satisfying to touch and especially to listen to the metal clink against one another. A great buy for those who are looking for Small denominations in board games. *edited for grammar and info accuracy

I'd be curious to read your takes on other sets! ☺️ I'm looking at the Libertalia coins right now and they are a really nice set for sure-and very affordable like you mentioned: between $20-25 depending on where you get them! Thank you again for the recommendation! p.s. I don't know too much about either of the Libertalia games but I don't think Stonemaier Games had anything to do with the original, although I could be wrong! 🏴☠️

@@BoardGameDave Hey Dave, very impressive you keep in touch with comments from your older videos. I believe the most important criteria for metal coins are the Weight, Stackability, Sound, Denominations, Quantity, Quality, Visual and Tactile feel. Stackability is a surprising one too for newcomers of coin collecting. For example the Viticulture coins are very nice in many aspects, but they stack poorly because the visuals in the center of the coin are thicker than the outer edge of the coin and many buyers are unpleasantly surprised by this when they get these in the mail. Also yes, youre absolutely correct. Stonemaier had nothing to do with the original title. I mistakenly typed "their older title" rather than "THE older title". (Great video btw, i watched it several times over to aid extensively with my choice in coins)

@@fmar528 I try to keep up with every comment on my channel to the best of my ability! I always figure if someone is taking the time out of their day to leave a comment the least I can do is reply back, you know? ☺ Love those additional criteria like quantity, tactile feel, and SOUND, especially! The clink of the coins as you gain and spend them is one of the best parts of using metal coins in board games! For my part, I really don't care at all about stackability unless it's for poker-I don't mind a big stack of metal coins personally! 🤣 But everything else you mentioned is very important to me as well when I'm looking critically at a set of metal coins! Thanks for the response!
