You can actually control the ball with a side of the foot perfectly if you do it right. In the video you can see he deliberately moving the foot forward while trying to control the ball. All you have to do it pull the leg back towards your body while the ball touch your feet. I saw another video of you with how to shoot properly. It's the same in there too, deliberately miss the net.

Yes, you can control the ball with the side of the foot. The principles of keeping the foot relaxed to absorb the impact of the ball applies regardless of the contact area that you use.

I’m 11 using my mom’s phone and I can’t even flick the ball upward, and soccer is quite literally “in my blood” because I’m Salvadorian and Guatemalan. I can shoot pretty decently though, and I want to be able to dribble because I want to be able to impress people with this skill because in 2024 none of my skills impress anyone, plus I love soccer. I think I can turn it into a career one day.

Bro both ways are how to cross a ball the striker just cant hit a header
@TheFootVault4 күн бұрын
Both ways of crossing can be used in the right situation the main thing is to choose the right tool for the unique situation you face in the game.
@imegg38954 күн бұрын
If the striker can hit a header, fault is on the striker smh 🤦🏻♂️
@TheFootVault4 күн бұрын
There is certainly a time and place for a cross in the air but many times at the lower levels of the game players are crossing the ball high without thinking about it and the attackers are often not good enough to finish such chances hence the point in the video.
@shreked59734 күн бұрын
works really good when there's no defenders
@TheFootVault4 күн бұрын
These types of passes work very often even at the top level of the game and are scored every week when looking at the highlights of all the games in any of the top European leagues. It may look simple but it’s hard to defend at speed as the defence often drops leaving the cut back space open for a late run into the box or for a player who simply stands still while the defence drop towards their goal. The partnership and assists between Dani Alves and Messi and Jordi Alba and Messi are a perfect example of this working over and over again. Teams know what they are going to do but still can’t defend it.
@shreked59734 күн бұрын
@@TheFootVault i understand your point but thats completely different thing from a cross. to say that a cut back is better than a cross is just simply false. each one is used differently for example if the box area is crouded with defenders the cut back will probably never work so you r better crossing it. but if you are in a counter attack situation or their defense is unorganized then its better to try to cut it back or try dribble your defender then cut

Use your scanning before you receive the ball to make the best decision for the specific situation that you face in the game. Each unique situation requires a unique solution. This video highlights one of those situations you might face where players will stop the ball dead with their first touch when they have space in front of them to exploit.
@TheFootVault5 күн бұрын
@@KieferDuelasScanning before you receive the ball will help you make better decisions when you receive it. You definitely shouldn’t do this every time without thinking about it, only use it when there is space to exploit.
