Splitter like that makes the most sense for me, you've done a really good job!

Cool unit, I think I'd put the splitter behind the tractor and chuck the sticks over my shoulder into the cart.
@wknlogger45983 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! I started doing that (splitter in front of the trailer) but had a hard time backing up cause of the weight of the trailer when full and the shortness of the tongue on the splitter so i switched around and all was good.

So efficient ! Is it a homemade splitter or commercial ? Regards from France.

Like the splitter but way spend the time on rocking tandem trailer. Log lift would be required

That's a fast splitter. Do you have the specs on it? Pump size, engine size, ect
@wknlogger45984 жыл бұрын
11 hp or 340cc engine. 16gpm 2 stage pump. 3 inch bore, 2 inch rod by 18 inch stroke cylinder.

Very nice system for collecting firewood, your splitter and mine are very similar , i have a cable driven log lift on the side of mine that works off the ram stroke.
@wknlogger45984 жыл бұрын
Beefie's Channel thanks! I might do a log lift like youre describing. For now, it’s working perfectly for me.

So this video is over 2 years old now, how is the trailer holding up? is there anything that you would change? any current pictures or video of it in use? nice build!
@wknlogger45984 жыл бұрын
Beefie's Channel I modified the axels so they would take more abuse. I made a 8 inch rail so it has more capacity.

Love it!!! Would love to build this but needs a bigger table an lift... have any plans?
@wknlogger45985 жыл бұрын
Sorry i don’t have any plans. You’re right if i had to build another one, it would have a slightly bigger table. One of the most important part of building this splitter was keeping it the lightest possible so i could easily manoeuvre it. That i succeeded.

Where did you get the cylinder from Eric?
@wknlogger45987 жыл бұрын
I had a hard time finding a proper cylinder for a fast cycle. I was looking at what was available from retailers and found nothing interesting. Speed was very important to me so i kept looking at kijiji website. I finally found the one i bought brand new 75$. That was a steal but i had to drive 2:30 to get it. Well worth it.

Which prince valve would you have used? Looking to build one this summer for myself.
@wknlogger45987 жыл бұрын
I would use a Prince ls3000. I Like this valve better cause you can adjust the detent pressure. With the energy valve when the oil is cold, the detent triggers by itself because to much back pressure cause by the cold oil. Very annoying.
@garynewton39797 жыл бұрын
Eric beautiful work! was there anything special about the pump that you used? The trailer that you built was well done also!
@wknlogger45987 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comments! I really enjoy building projects. If i had the means i would build a log forwarder trailer. The pump is a 2 stage pump. Low pressure she flows 16gpm and hight pressure is 4gpm.
@wknlogger45987 жыл бұрын
I used a 3"bore x 2"rod x 18" stroke cylinder. Powered by a gx340 honda coupled to a 16gpm pump. Energy valve was laying around from another project so i used it, but if i had to buy one, i would have bought a Prince valve. There much better quality and ajustable on the detent.

the 3" cylinder looks like it works well! Eric I would like to talk to you if I could 506 292 1890 text me sometime

Eric what did you use to get the fast cycle time? Is that a 4" cylinder 2" rod? I am building one similar to the power split vertical.

I widen exhaust and intake, smoot and round the edges around transition point (crankcase to transfer and widen them a little). I lack the equipment to bring porting to the next level. No base gasket made the compression rise to 185 psi. Squish was right at 0.020. Oem open port cylinder. What i notice is porting oem cylinder brings much more performance then aftermarket one. This saw is a strong performer. I love the idling sound of this saw!
@wknlogger45987 жыл бұрын
Sorry i dont recall what brand it was. I widen exhaust and intake as much as i can. Then round and smooth the transition edges. To raise compression, i delete base gasket. This saw had the original walbro carb, no mod to it.
@smithtradfallning7 жыл бұрын
What kit is this? What are you changing when you are porting? What carb? Thanks.
@smithtradfallning7 жыл бұрын
Hi, what did you do to the cylinder? Is this the bolt on intake open port cylinder?
