Serato DJ does not offer the features that Virtual DJ provides for beginners. With Serato, you can't DJ using your own keyboard mapping; you are required to buy hardware to start learning to DJ. On the other hand, Virtual DJ allows you to use the keyboard and sound like a professional DJ.

@@djjoman I learned on it with zero issue. I honestly don't think vdj holds a candle to serato. To each their own... You can map stuff to the keyboard without even having a controller, I just checked.

For beginners, Virtual DJ is the best choice because you can learn many things without needing hardware. Serato is best for using hardware, so if a beginner can't afford to buy hardware, it's better to start with Virtual DJ.

​@@LocutusOfWarborgOneOfOne Serato is pretty basic in comparison to what dj software offers in 2024 and that's can be a good thing but it's also a big limitation. Vdj offers a lot more features and flexibility than serato for free, without the need for buy an expansion pack or an expensive device to enjoy the top features. Plus the stems on vdj are cleaner without that underwater effect that's still present on serato acapellas. Until serato develop ways to deal with duplicated track and a simple track suggestion feature, there's no candle to be held.

I understand your point. But when you do change your computer, you'll likely get a more powerful machine that can handle more demanding tasks, often at a lower cost than one running Windows 10. Plus, modern alternatives offer great performance and features!

If you get error to update firmware using mac you can use windows pc to update firmware for your rev7. But if you what to update drivers you must use the pc that always your using for DJing. Due to that error make sure that usb is working properly also close all dj software before to make update.
