Agreed. Billboard had to keep it relevant for all different generations. Migos had some influence on modern hip hop but that record is not top 100 or even 200 in my book.

I guess after how commanding the first two tracks are, the rest can pale in comparison a bit. It doesn’t bother me so much in this case.
@andrewadkins6006 күн бұрын
I agree with your opinion on RTL but Dave Mustaine wrote all the rhythm and lead tracks and Cliff did the rest. James and Kirk did didley for that album and Lars is just a punk to begin with
@ryantalksmusic6 күн бұрын
Fair points. According to the liner notes, Hammett did some songwriting on about half the tracks. I considered mentioning the Mustaine situation but it’s tough to cram all of that into a one minute short.

Run DMC Raising Hell Beastie Boys Licensed to Ill Did not make the top 10?
@ryantalksmusic6 күн бұрын
Raising Hell came in at #96 and Licensed to Ill didn’t make the list, though Paul’s Boutique did. Billboard did early-mid 80s hip hop a little dirty.

I prefer the White Album. Abbey Road is great but I just love the prolific and eclectic nature of the White Album. And the medley is overrated. Some great songs, but the format is not as innovative as some people seem to believe considering that a few months earlier the Who had released Tommy which was a double album containing an entire song cycle with a single narrative. I'm sure will say I'm hating, but I'm a huge Beatles fan. Just my humble opinion.
@ryantalksmusic20 күн бұрын
Fair points. The White Album is a close second to Abbey Road for me: it’s extremely good and memorable, maybe just a tad long.
