Toy Story 4 could have been about Woody accepting that he wouldn't always be the favourite, something he struggled with since 1 and didn't really have to consider ever since as Andy reverted to preferring him. Then, 5 could have been about Bonnie growing up and being a teen (12-13), an age we haven't seen yet and then Andy would return, married, and take his toys for his children. Then 6 could have centered around the toy gang being played by Andy's children and him as a dad and perhaps touching on the whole digital age, as children spend a lot of time playing videogames nowadays. This could have been a fine ending 2.0 and a message about the importance of playing with real toys. Instead, Woody's character was butchered, he was manipulated by an evil doll who ultimately got exactly what she wanted, he was constantly abused by Bo Peep, who suddenly became a "bossgirl" because we need a stupid "feminist" massage, the main character was a fork in denial, Buzz was reduced to a dumb dumb, the rest of the gang had nothing to do but delay Bonnie's parents and the ending went against everything the other films stood for. Shame...

I was a bit surprised that anyone could dislike the bee episode more than the Mily Cyrus episode, until I saw this video is six years old and therefore came out before the Cyrus sode.

People like Incredibles 2 because media literacy isn’t actually taught in schools. English teachers will just tell their students what the themes of some boring old book are, and give them an A if they just repeat what they were told. I didn’t even hear the words “character development” until I started watching movie review videos in college.

1:46 "the action in the restaurant is completely pointless to the plot" Literally the scene where Larry (one of the most important vfd characters) meet the children and is revealed to be somehow related to their parents 😭.

This film had many chances to explore different concepts but decided to explore none of them. I kept watching thinking they would explore x or y but they never did any of it and I was disappointed. Of all paths they chose a forced romance path…

Happytime Murder is an immature adult movie. I don't mind R rated movie but it is mediocre. This movie plot and twist make no sense. It is so disgusting & cringe. I heard it was originally going to be serious crime puppet. What a shame, that they make it comedic garbage.

I thought the message was going to be, 'it doesn't take other worldly sci-fi tec to change your life for the better'. Because, he does shrink, and ends up in the exact same situation as when he was big, down the classist, American social structure. Only when he visits Norway, does he see the potential to live in a self sustainable community, free of superficiality and class division. But then he just fucks all that off and lives back in his artificial hell.

I’ve been playing grounded on the PlayStation recently and honestly that’s the only reason why I watch this movie. I like the idea of little people but I’m not sure what this movie was trying to do.

TL;DW They didn't actually shrink Matt Damon, he's actually normal size the whole movie but just pretending to be small.
@RogueAstro8512 күн бұрын
. They could've made this a comedy where when someone downsize they still have to participate in regular society and all the funnies that happens when big and small people interact, like they always have to stand near a tack so people don't accidentally sit on them. You could even keep the plot point of Matt Damon's wife not going through with it and have him fall in love with a big person. There's no reason anybody needed to shrink in this movie and it was so weird about it's messages

The worst part was that they didn't even try to make most objects look like they were small except for the flower and his cell phone. Like everything looked normal size. In a small world, items would look very different. Even things like carved wood, or laminate flooring or carpet would look way different. Door knobs and hardware, and eyeglasses everything would have been supposedly made in the normal sized world. I mean, i literally saw those white plastic lawn chairs that everyone had growing up inside the ghetto. Like did someone just create and tiny exact replica of every item? No frickin way. Its like they didn't even try at all to form the illusion. The movie didn't even need to have shrunk people at all, it could've told the same dumb story without shrinking at all. It's like someone ad this storyline that was too boring, and so they just added the whole shrinking thing to spice it up.

Downsizing intrigues me because of how bad and dissappointing it was. It really amazes me that the director could not see it. I wonder whether the (brilliant) cast had an idea after production but before realise, that this was a terrible movie. What is bad for movie watchers is that it’s difficult now for anybody else to make a movie (even a good one) about people downsizing to have more resources, because it is going to feel like they stole the idea. (In reality, at least breeding smaller humans, has been a topic of philosophy before). What we needed was a Back to the Future type of movie that explores the implications of the tech at every corner. In that case, not only the movie, but the whole trilogy became a classic. Imagine of Downsizing was made the same way. It just one example of how excessive quest to appear virteous on socio political messaging can destroy the human story.

The thing for me is the direction of the film is leagues above the show despite the issue of condensing 3 books into one 90 minutes. I wish they did 2 books per film and made it a franchise with the same mood as the film. Jude Law as Lemony Snicket with the voice over is just perfect and the visual storytelling really does it for me. I enjoyed the series well enough but never made it past the first season. Just by watching this video and comparing the two adaptations visually, the Netflix show is way less aethetically pleasing and lacks that dark moody vibe that I feel is essential to the spirit of the book series.

Other interesting changes. Simba goes back to Nala before heading back, after seeing Mufasa in the clouds. Also, when Scar admits what he did, the lionesses don't attack until Saraba says 'lionesses, attack!'. Also, Simba doesn't hug Rafiki, showing how much he has matured since finding him irritating. Also Simba's climb at the end is shortened, and less dramatic, but it's symbolic of what he's achieved and how far he's come.

this BS validates Seinfeld's 'woke destroying comedy' comments. Don't understand the mechanics of the creative experience of embodying another human? Doesn't matter, dismantle it with a pseudo-morality spanner. Forget attempting method acting for attention, or acting, or even comedy, just criticise on KZfaq, it's way easier. You've missed a massive level of psychology between 'conscious' and 'supernatural', with an incomplete map you've jumped to a juvenile assumption. You're no expert on psychology or creativity.
