Why is it important to note the exchanges in your head? You don't really explain the use of that routine

Thanks for sharing this game and your thoughts. I'm around 1700 rated so it's very helpful to learn how a 2k+ player thinks and works through the game. B5 looks a bit dangerous as it leaves the other pawn weak - not sure I would have known to play it in a real game - but it does help keep initiative whereas the king move is perhaps too passive.

I bought it a month ago and I love it! I keep it as a beginner Intermediate reference guide, as I started with Pandolfini's Ultimate Guide to Chess and Graham Burgess Mammoth Book of Chess and gave those away. I wish I'd begun with this one. Easily absorbed!!

I used to think like this like" oh I played i am better than them i am a better player" but I came to realize that those types of people that maybe you think they don't play well, they don't blunder and that's why they are at a high rating just something to think about the good play and sometimes blunders balance out with meh play and way less to no obvious blunders

Very cool playstyle. Bold, strategic, and lethal. Tate doesnt play around.

Bro my rapid rating is 1600 but my blitz and bullet is only 1050-1100😭, how can I improve it, I’m so bad with little time it’s like everything I know is thrown out the window
@ottomeister8
@ottomeister8 12 күн бұрын
You got to play slightly different, play easy openings you know, and get positions your comfortable in. For example I might play the ruy Lopez in rapid but in blitz I’ll switch it to the Jobava London because it’s easier for me

Ur much lower rated in blitz/bullet as rapid is inflated by around 400 points vs blitz/bullet at that rating range, aka your blitz/bullet should be at around 1200. Ur worse in lower time controls, but not by a lot.

you can change the rating range of people u play, so u dont have to play people 100-200pts lower rated than u.

Don't do chessboxing, please. We don't need the inspiration and you don't need to have your brains knocked about. Chessboxing is a sport of boxers who happen to play chess, not intellectuals like you.

Bro great video. Just one piece of small feedback: if you’re already editing, you should edit out the “umm”s. Especially when it’s Quick chops like you have it. It can make it a bit distracting.

The true Soviet School of chess had students focus on endgames first-thousands of endgames. After that tactics and strategy. Openings were taught for the more advanced students as they can easily absorb the material due to the building blocks they established.

Not bad for a new player. His father Emery was a tactical machine an IM and almost GM who beat top GM's because of his aggressive tactical play. I met Emory first in around 2005 at the HB global chess tournament in Minneapolis. A player and I were looking at a game on screen and we wondered out loud why the player had resigned. Emory in obvious frustration blurted out he resigned because of then recites a 5 move combination leading to a significant loss of material... Grunted and walked away. I laughed and told the other player we just got schooled by a legend. Saw Emory at a few other tournaments in Indiana and Chicago. Then not too long before he passed I was at a small open tournament in Indianapolis that Emory was obviously going to win and between games he asked me to hang out with him and we talked martial arts. He was so proud of his sons who were hardly known then. Cool day indeed.

Fundamentals are a bit strange and shaky, but his tactics and creativity are incredible, you can definitely see that he’s Emory’s son

I'm probably missing something but how is it checkmate? How is h6 being attacked in the end? Could he not move the king there after the rook/queen takes happen and continue the match? I'm guessing the opponent just resigned at that point.
