Why would a civilization need a Dyson sphere if it perfected fusion power. The sun and all stars are just fusion reactors so it seems a waste of resources and frankly just a complete fantasy to build a megastructure that surrounds a star to capture energy that could easily be generated closer to home.

My hypothesis is that our earth due to its location in the solar system attracts specific types of minerals and organisms like sediment in a pond and that every planet that has a heat source and size is similar to earth has potential to harbor life or giant lizards or roaches but roaches can live anywhere.
