One reason why Rugby Union makes more progress than League is that their games are not followed by uneducated dimwits yelling "FORWARD" or "A MILE FORWARD" at every pass by the opposition that fails to travel at least a yard backwards. This peculiar definition of the word "forward" effectively makes a short pass illegal, since it can`t go clearly backwards, and thus reduces attacking options and generally diminishes the game. Casualties of a failing state education system in the North of England are sadly unable to understand this or any other logical concepts like "benefit of the doubt". Rugby League in England-right game, wrong people.
