I learned the truth at seventeen That love was meant for beauty queens And high school girls with clear skinned smiles Who married young and then retired The valentines I never knew The Friday night charades of youth Were spent on one more beautiful At seventeen I learned the truth... And those of us with ravaged faces Lacking in the social graces Desperately remained at home Inventing lovers on the phone Who called to say "come dance with me" And murmured vague obscenities It isn't all it seems at seventeen... A brown eyed girl in hand me downs Whose name I never could pronounce Said: "Pity please the ones who serve They only get what they deserve" The rich relationed hometown queen Marries into what she needs With a guarantee of company And haven for the elderly... So remember those who win the game Lose the love they sought to gain In debitures of quality and dubious integrity Their small-town eyes will gape at you In dull surprise when payment due Exceeds accounts received at seventeen... To those of us who knew the pain Of valentines that never came And those whose names were never called When choosing sides for basketball It was long ago and far away the world was younger than today when dreams were all they gave for free to ugly duckling girls like me... We all play the game, and when we dare We cheat ourselves at solitaire Inventing lovers on the phone Repenting other lives unknown That call and say: "Come on, dance with me" And murmur vague obscenities At ugly girls like me, at seventeen...

I am playing Everlong on the piano right now. I can read music and just started playing again after 20yrs of not having a piano. I was having so much trouble with the rhythm bc I have to play it so fast, and the way you described playing it on the drums and how you see it has tremendously helped me. I’ve never had a speech about music resonate so much in my soul. I cannot play a song unless I feel it in my bones. I have to be in the emotional mindset and play a song I love or you can’t hear it in my music or I’m bored with it. Music coming from raw emotion is the BEST MUSIC, and this is why Everlong is one of my favorite songs.

And held you in my bloody hands These rattled bones and rubber bands Washed them in the muddy water Looking for a dime and found a quarter But you can't make me change my name You'll never make me change my name Pay no mind, now ain't that's something Fuck it all, I came from nothing

What can I say, I was at your Gouthenburg live show some year ago... Yeah that concert... With that said, I was a really a fan since 1997 and you blew my mind with 'Monkey Wrench'!! But after that concert you are my hero Dave! Actually I'm more or less listen to Foo Fighers every time I work on the dinner, one Whiskey and turn on your awesome tunes and the let's cooking!😊 Wonder how I can buy your epi guitar without my wife sees it...

Once in an English Class, my teacher played this video on the projector and then "Sorry" by Justin Bieber, so he asked which song we liked the most, everyone voted on "Walk".

I used to listen to podcasts almost exclusively when I rode my bike on paths near the San Francisco bay. At some point, I started listening to this album for the return leg of my 40-mile out-and-back ride. Now, I listen to the album for both legs, out and back, and I've been doing so every time I ride. I hear the entire album three times or more on such a ride. It's like I'm stuck inside Dave Grohl's musical mind 13 years in the past. I can't escape. The music won't let me.

This performance is overrated. The collab happened because they share a record label. It doesn’t feel authentic to me. It’s not like John Paul Jones hopping on with the guys to add his own twist to a live version of the song.

this song means so much to me. this used to be me and my girlfriends song. i requested for it to play at the school dance and i just started balling my eyes out saying how much i loved her. she broke up with me after the dance that night. now i cant help but cry when i hear this. so thank you for this beautiful song and what it created. i miss her so much and she isnt coming back. nothing will ever feel that real forever, and nothing will ever feel that good again.

Gonna miss that beautiful voice and fantastic drumming. So wish I’d have gotten to Foo Fighters sooner. You, David are also incredible, kinda like the next Phil Collin’s. But as an older gal who previously played the drums and had a drum set, I sold n never got paid for, I’m totally fascinated with Taylor. ❤😢
