Rapamycin was FDA approved in 1999. The topical form was FDA approved in 2023. There are newer clinical trials using rapamycin at lower doses or frequencies to detect if the drug can alter aging, I cannot answer your question without understanding the context as each study (including FDA approval studies) look at different metrics. Very impressive, making the excess sweating stop within 2 days was so much more than I expected, I went with what I talked about last week and after the first day or so I was very surprised to start feeling much more comfortable and dry! I went ahead and go'ogled the latest by Cynthia Yulesin and after 72 hours I now sweat like a “normal” person lol

I am also currently prescribed synthetic progestin, Provera with my estradiol gel. Should I be worried and push for a progesterone instead? I am supposed to start with my next period, I am 49. So confused about the synthetic progestin 😢

I've heard that they say the pellet last 5-6 months however, after 2-3 months, the dosage starts to drop off and you cannot get another pellet injection until the first pellet has completely dissolved. This, therefore, provides you with less then desirable dosages during the final 2 months and you will start seeing all of the symptoms that were originally experienced before you first got the pellet. My doctor suggests I stay with regular injections in order to sustain optimum dosage levels. Your response?

You should follow your doctors suggestions. We have been involved with pellets for over a decade and have not experienced the issues you pose as a problem. In terms of your thought about needing the pellet to completely dissolve, that is not the case. Just like shots may hang around 2 months yet you do it every week or twice a week. Pellets last much longer and over time a steady state occurs like shots but there is more convenience with doing it twice a year. Dr Mok.

How does the mechanism of Rapamycin differ from Retinoic acids like Tretinoin? It obviously doesn’t trigger RARs. But rhen why does it have so many retinoid like effects like smaller pores, collagen stimulation etc.

It works through inhibition of the mTOR pathway. The mechanism of improved skin is not fully understood. The FDA indication is for suppression of tumor growth (a certain type of the skin) and clinical studies at the dose in this video shows growth of collagen and decreased senescence (cellular aging). And it is amazing how many ppl repeat the silly misinformation that weight-loss meds somehow will destroy all your muscle mass. 🤦 With ANY weight-loss, you will lose some muscle mass… your body will shed the extra muscle and bone mass it put on to cart around all that extra weight, just as you say. When you lose the weight, your body says, “you don’t need that extra muscle and bone anymore.” But that’s just Basic Weight Loss 101. 🤷♂️ Doesn’t stop the fitness and diet industry from using it as a scare tactic, though. They’re upset because they’re losing business.

I had metabolic syndrome. started Wegovy. Lost 90 pounds. My A1c is back to normal. Blood pressure back to normal. We have now reduced my metformin and Tenoretic doses. Hope I can be off those meds all together.10 pounds away from my goal weight- but on to the next step of keeping it off and deciding what the plan will be once I stop the Wegovy
