The tier here is simple. S+ acting skills....BATISTA A+ Cena D at best The Rock. Batista and Cena can run circles around the Rock when it comes to acting and is a shame, when the Rock started he actually try, he might not have a huge successful film that turn the world on fire but he had some roles that show he could act, problem is, he have become a BRAND, and not he is not even allowing people to beat him in a film, what the heck is that for a story teller?, when your character can't be seem as weak, the Rock destroy any chances with that alone to become a real actor, Arnold was never like that as unstoppable some of his role where, Arnold never ask or demand that his character was invincible, some of his best roles like Dutch in Predator or the T-800 where roles that humanize his character by having some limits and weakness, even when he played a damn robot still could be blow up, get torn apart and smack around. Batista totally understand this and he brings a humanity to his roles, even Drax have 10 times the vulnerability and humanity than any character the Rock have ever played had. Batista easily win this, Cena also is very good, but he takes too much crappy jobs, hope he start taking less and look for more prestige roles for himself

You've hit the nail on the head! Great acting requires vulnerability and Bautista isn't afraid to be vulnerable whereas the Rock would never be vulnerable because he thinks it makes him look weak (although ironically Bautista looks much stronger for allowing himself to be vulnerable). And I agree about Cena, he takes on a lot of crap, but I have to admit even in a mediocre straight-to-streaming comedy like Jackpot or Ricky Stanicky Cena brings his A-game and provides a lot of laughs

Well, basically all you need to know about the movie is that all the characters in the movie are children. Everything stems from this simple fact. It's about a bunch of kids playing games. For example just look at the way the gun fights happen and what kinds of movements the characters are doing. It's as if children were playing gun fights. Seeing the movie from this angle will make you understand and appreciate it way better.

That's a really interesting way of looking at it! I never thought of it like that but you're right, the action scenes are staged like kids playing pretend and all the characters are pretty immature when it comes to adult relationships

It took me until the nth viewing of this movie to really see where Dewey's philosophy shines through. It's at the first day of school. At 3:16 he's mad that they give stars and demerits because it's obviously a 'brainwashing method' (in his eyes) so he rips it up and inserts his own philosophy: There is no "right" or "wrong" way of behaving. You behave how you feel is natural. The philosophy just keeps getting clearer throughout the movie as well. Like when "Fancy Pants" is assigned security, but asks to be the stylist instead, Dewey doesn't hesitate or try to force him to be security. He just says "Of course, you can, Fancy Pants." How is this movie more progressive than any movie we get nowadays?

Finns introduction should have looked like the opening cinematic of Crusader: No Remorse, and he basically should have been the Silencer. It also would have been interesting for him to ditch his modern storm trooper armor, only to put on an older set (clone era maybe?) with rebel markings.

Also, TWD spin-offs are trash. Seriously, just watch/read Erik Kain's reviews to get a sense of what a waste of time they are. Daryl Dixon was just a poor man's copy of Last of Us, with a super annoying lead kid character; Dead City just undoes all the character arc closure in the OG show finale due to it being a forced cash cow; and the R&M show was just a giant nothingburger which makes no sense and is a bad soap opera.
@igottouchedatthecinema
@igottouchedatthecinema 15 күн бұрын
That's disappointing, I think I'll give the spinoffs a go since they're only like 6 episodes each but they probably should've packed in the TWD universe a long time ago. But I'm up to season 9 with the main show and it's not as bad as I thought it would be, it's really hit-and-miss but there's still some great stuff in there

I loved The Great Escaper, was my second favourite of last year. Enjoyed it even more at home, but that’s cos I didn’t have 10 minutes of the people in front of me discussing when the US joined WW2. I was surprised as it even made my partner cry, whereas I will cry at the drop of a hat (and from the distress of said hat being dropped) he’s just not a crier.

I liked it more than I thought, defo the best DP film but that's not a high bar lol. The opening title sequence was brilliant, and the cameos were really fun but its all still hollow nostalgia bait. Elektra did not need to be there at all she was pointless unfortunately. I would have liked for them to finally do her right but that did sweet FA instead. No Way Home at least made an effort to incorporate the cameos into the story and close their arcs etc. But Channing Tatum was hilarious and glad he got his chance onscreen. And at the end of the day, Snipes was right. At this rate, there really will just be one Blade in the MCU and it doesnt seem like it will be Ali lmao.
@igottouchedatthecinema
@igottouchedatthecinema 15 күн бұрын
I agree about Elektra, the others all had a substantial reason to be there (X-23 following up on Logan, Channing finally getting to play Gambit etc.) but Elektra didn't really have a reason to be there, I feel like she was just there because Jennifer Garner has worked with Ryan and Shawn Levy before. And I totally agree about Blade, Snipes looked so great with the white facial hair, at this point I'd rather see an Old Man Blade film with Snipes than the Ali reboot that Marvel can't seem to crack
