I love shooting 250D! With a friend, we bought a 100ft roll and was amazing. The only problem is that there are no local labs where I can develop, so I had to develop myself. Which is pretty smelly and the chemical doesn't last much. But if I had a lab that could develop ecn-2 for me, I would switch to them! Also, I found some pretty neat configurations from Negative Lab Pro to convert the negatives that work flawlessly!

I just finished shooting with a black and white disposable Ilford. I'm nervous about the view screen, whther it got the framing right and when I pressed the shutter a couple times I noticed the camera moved a little. I'm excited to see how it came out though.

nice video will have to look into the filter...
@larrymccormick3226
@larrymccormick3226 2 ай бұрын
The hood is a 36mm push on hood. You can also get 36mm push on filter to 49mm step up ring and then you could put 49mm filter's and a 49mm threaded hood on it too. That's the cheapest way to go !
@saif9817
@saif9817 2 ай бұрын
Thank you for the advice! I was actually able to find out the filter thread size and get a push on hood a few weeks ago! Although it helps the flaring issues, they’re still present so I’m thinking the best option may just be to hold my hand out over the lens when flaring is likely

How can reveal the negative of this ? I mean do I need chemicals to reveal the negative? I can’t find instructions for this I have the same camera
@saif9817
@saif9817 7 ай бұрын
Hi! Yes you need chemicals to develop the pictures as this is a film camera. You can take it to a lab or purchase chemicals and equipment to develop it at home, this disposable is filled with a colour film that uses the C-41 process for developing. I should warn you that if you want to develop it yourself, you will need to break open the camera to get the film out and this can require a bit of force. The easier thing to do would be to take it to a lab or pharmacy that develops film.

I have just ordered one of these on eBay last night so was looking to see if I had made a fair purchase at £35 or $50 delivered and as it is boxed with lots of accessories, I am reassured. I am a bit of a CCD fanboy actually and this is my 13th Olympus, 11 of which are Camedias. I have subscribed and look forward to future content.

Great video. Old point-and-shoot digicams are fun whenever you can buy them for $10 or less. The reasons I like older digicam (typically pre-2007) are: 1. they are often AA battery powered, which I see as an advantage rather than a disadvantage; two non-rechargeable AA's are cheap; two high-capacity rechargeable AAs will give you huge battery life; 2. they are often a little chunkier in build, which is easier to hold, even though less pocketable; 3. they often had viewfinders, which I think are indispensable to outdoor photography; 4. you can sometimes find them for sale for bargain prices; occasionally people will give them away; 5. even the budget cameras were made to a fairly good quality, because they were made with some residual attitude from the 1980s and 1990s that electronics were high-end consumer products, and not disposable goods to be replaced every couple of years; 6. most photos are only ever shared online or digitally; a 3MP to 5MP camera will produce an image file that is fairly small in size but more than adequate for viewing on the web, especially on a screen of a smartphone; 7. nostalgia; 8. many camera manufacturers have abandoned the unviable budget point-and-shoot camera market; all that's really left is the high-end prosumer and professional market.

Thank you for the video Saif, really interesting and some great shots. I have an old Olympus C-2000z with the same IR capability and it's amazing how what might be a boring photo comes to life with IR, especially where there are sunlit trees with a few clouds in a blue sky in the background - very dramatic. I just wonder why it was possible over 20 years ago to have a camera which could take both standard and IR photos, are there any modern cameras that do the same? Otherwise its a question of an expensive conversion to IR only.

@saif9817

It’s hard to say without seeing the lighting, so I would recommend either trying the settings on your digital camera or just taking a light reading using an app to get an idea, even if you have to use the flash, it’s not very powerful so it won’t be very jarring for your subjects and will give you the added advantage of freezing the motion in fast scenes

@@KerenNaomi No problem! I would recommend selecting the aperture you want to shoot at and seeing what the shutter speed reading is, if it’s at 1/2000 then you might be close to overexposing or might be overexposing, I can’t remember if/what the indicators for that are on that camera but I usually just check by stopping down a little and seeing when the value changes, if it changes on the first adjustment then you’re probably fine, but if it doesn’t change then you should stop down till it does and then shoot at one of the two apertures, either the one where it maxes out the shutter or the one where it goes down a little

There’s a display on the top which shows a bunch of information (mode, exposure settings etc.) at the bottom left corner of this there’s some brackets and that shows you the number of shots you have taken, how many pictures left depends on the roll of film, 24exp rolls usually stretch to around 26/27 and 36exp rolls go to around 38 shots in my experience but you’re guaranteed at least the number on the box
