Hello, I need help because I want to invest in a good Helix MagLock Gear filter system. My lenses range from 67mm for the Sony G 20mm and GM 35mm , 72mm for my G 20-40mm, 70-200mm macro , GM 50mm and 100mm STF, 77mm for my Sigma 85mm and 82mm for my 135mm and 95mm for the Sony 200-600mm. I need a polarizer + ND combination about 2-6 stops + a matte box. Can you provide a list of references to purchase on your site? THANKS

You just need a base plate for each lens, whichever filters you want, the 114mm adapter, and a nano matte box

What about the other way around? I already had a 49mm filter, and my new lens is 52mm. If I use the step up ring to attach the 49mm filter to the 52mm lens, will it create a vignette?

Thanks for this Jeff! Is it accurate to say that all the Mist filters in the PolarPro lineup, such as the older mist filters, are a Black Mist not a Gold Mist? And only the newest Chroma VND/PL has the Gold Mist?

You got it! All the older filters that say Mist, are a white mist. Black mist and gold mist filters are all specified on each product page that they are available on. The Chroma VND/PL has both Black mist and gold mist options for you

i have 82mm, 67mm and a 49mm. I see a 67mm -82mm step up ring. I’m not seeing one from 49-82mm. What’s the recommendation or workaround ?

I would recommend using two filters, one for your 49mm and one for your 82mm. The 82mm filter on a 49mm lens is going to be huge

The Helix filters are 104mm in diameter, if you add an adapter to accept threaded filters the threaded filter would need to be like 115mm in diameter to no vignette on this system

I’ve got a 15 Pro Max, and the photos look blurry around the outside, particularly towards the bottom. I do have cheap lens protectors (my iPhone XS lens got cracked, so taking no chances). However I’m open to ditching these cheap lens protectors. Will using this help? I’ve seen people online moaning that their 15 pro max also take blurry photos. Is this a defect in this model?

@polarpro with the new armor glass UV filter, thought of putting one on each lens, then stack the Helix base plate for use with PM VND or CB CP filter. This should work OK? Think I'd prefer having the armor glass as a base that never comes off.
@PolarProFilters
@PolarProFilters 11 күн бұрын
It will work as long as you don’t need to shoot below 19mm Focal lengths (2 filters stacked will vignette under 19mm)

This video was super helpful for me. I bought a 2-5 and 6-9 of these after watching this. Mainly because of how you said you were able to make the glass much a cleaner with this. I used these on a shoot a few days ago, with an FX30 on a gimbal, shooting a vineyard event on a very bright day, using these new NDs indoors and outdoors - and I gotta say - they performed great! The colors look really really good. There is a slight green shift I notice, but its really subtle and doesn’t seem to increase at the higher stops of ND. The one thing that surprised me though, is how hard this is to use on a gimbal. You can’t just grab the nd and twist it, cuz that will change the polarization, you have to put the gimbal down, grab the filter with 2 hands, and then you can shift the ND. Same with taking the Helix filter on or off, you kind need two hands on your lens to do it. At least when you’re using a gimbal. But it’s not a huge problem, and I am very very happy with these NDs. I am happy to be a little inconvenienced so that I get a better image like this. There was a big building with a shiny roof I needed images of, and the CPL took the glare right off of it. Then there was a bright sky and rolling hills I needed to capture, and the CPL main the sky not blown out. Super cool! Excited to experiment with these more! Great work you guys!!

Since we can turn the polarizer on and off, and the polarizer provides an ND effect of around 1-1.5 stops, can we say that this filter actually works like a 2-6 stop filter?
@PolarProFilters
@PolarProFilters 17 күн бұрын
The polarizers ND effect is dependent of the amount of reflected light it’s reducing, and yes could push the overall ND power to 6

If the polarizing effect can be completely turned off in this new model, I don't understand why we still need the previous standard model. What disadvantage does the polarized model have compared to the standard one? Also, do the Recon's polarized hard stops exist in the standard PLVND 2-5 and 6-9 as well? Or do they rotate indefinitely and require two hands due to the lack of a locking system? Sorry if I asked too many questions 😅, by the way, they look amazing. 🤘
@PolarProFilters
@PolarProFilters 17 күн бұрын
I don’t use the old version anymore :) No disadvantages in my opinion, cleaner color and tunable polarization are good in my book. The threaded and helix polarizer vnds all have hard stops too. You really need them to lock your stop value while you turn the polarizer. You still kinda need two hands to set the ND level. The polarizer can be operated one handed.

It can, it depends if that reflected light is coming from an angle that a polarizer will work on (90 degrees from the light source is where a polarizer is most effective)
