Was 14 when this came out. Remember a friend playing this in his bedroom on his tape deck and just being totally stunned by the bassline. The beat I loved, the rapping sounded great but that bassline over that beat, just the coolest thing I'd ever heard.

'My Part of Town' by Tuff Crew, from which this drew inspiration, is better IMHO. It has the raw street energy that this commercialised iteration lacks. The scratching within is off the charts..

Whole style is definitely a rip-off from Tuff Crew, go listen to their Danger zone album and you´ll see, it´s hard not to, they even sample their "back by dope demand" line and their rapping styles are identical. Nevertheless love(d) this tune!

Ik wist toen niet dat King Bee uit Nederland kwam, wow! Je verwachtte meer uit Amerika, maar waren goede talenten uit Nederland, zoals Tony Scott. Ik danste mijn zolen kapot toen op deze muziek. En wat een voortgang in de muziek vanaf rap naar hip-hop en hip-house. Van Sugarhill Gang ergens in 1979, naar MC-Miker G and DJ Sven ook en daarmee ook Public Enemy. Er gebeurde toen veel. Zoals electric boogie en breakdance en van rap naar op gegeven moment house. Ik dacht voor een poosje dat Tony Scott een Molukker was. Mijn excuses Tony. Sterkte met jouw ziekte en ik wou dat wij nu ongeveer 30 jaar terug in de tijd konden gaan.
