The center line of a control chart is not a target. It is the average performance. Targets can be found on other Lean Six Sigma tools but they are never on control charts. Control charts are voice of the process tools and a target is a voice of the customer concept.

Control charts are designed to be "voice of the process" tools, highlighting actual process performance and variations, while targets are "voice of the customer" concepts. will the certification authority screen profiles based on the pre-requisites you mentioned into the course or will they just teach and let us attend the course and appear for the exam

You will be required to show proof of certification (Black Belt) for the Master Black Belt program. No other pre-requisites are required for other programs.

@@socialsofshyam7 Thank you for your question. There is no industry requirement of work experience that needs to be provided, it is recommend to have relatable work experience, however there is no official Six Sigma governing body that requires work experience to sit for a Green Belt exam.

Hi Kavya, you can feel free to enroll directly into the Green Belt as there are no prerequisites and it will cover the Yellow Belt material. Very informative. However, there is a small typo in the second last example of “understanding six sigma concept” slide. Delayed flights should be 3.4 and not 3.4 million. Thanks.

six sigma is the biggest joke i ever heard in my life. Ironically Amazon takes average 5-7days to deliver a package in your door.you call that is an efficientcy?the time package delivered in the city where has the distrubution center should be same time interval as you order a pizza.

Thank you for the video I appreciate you explaining and showing examples, I think you may have a typo on the slide at 9:45 "Examples Of Six Sigma Process" Airline and printer manufacturers experience fewer than 3.4 million defects/ late departures per million or 3.4,000,000,:1,000,000 defects as opposed to 3.4:1,000,000 defects.

Thank you for saying it in 30 seconds! Lean Six Sigma is about achieving better Customer Value. I know how that important that is, but I really don't want to do that kind of logistical job. In my opinion, this is for people with aspirations to be in "Management". I like to work "for" Management, as an Engineer, but I NEVER want to become a Manager myself. They give me objectives and goals, and I make them into "reality"; aka "products". I like working in the Lab too much!

This is non-sense when Bill Smith at Motorola came up with this he never put any of this in the process. There is no governing body of six sigma and no one sets the rules on how or what you do in six sigma. Just use your common sense and don't buy into this stuff, champions, executive sponsor, process owners, white belts or any other of this garbage, stick to proven Quality methods like Deming said, not a gimick.

There is no one best for this, there is no governing body or offical accreditation for this any company can train their employess in Six Sigma and most large ones do themselves. Over 2 dozen universites offer this but if you wait till you are working for a company it is better to go through their training and get it from the company you are working for.

Excellent video because of the logical format and hand-colored drawings. I would like to hear more about closed-loop systems and other aspects of conservation and how the efficiency (lean) and quality (six sigma) processes can support these ideas.

Try to learn about six sigma first. Read articles, watch videos... Join some skilled colleague in his project, observe and learn. Try small improvements by your self. You can use method without being certified, unless certification is important for your career. .
