Parents not supporting pregnant teens are WILD to me. Like yes it's a bad situation but so is breaking a leg. It's a time where the teen needs support from an adult who is also experienced in parenting, and more than ever.

They wont be there for you in the middle of the night trying to help you settle a baby, trying to feed a baby that won't latch. Letting you rest while they are watching baby for you. All thay goes through their air heads are that a baby will be so cute and you'll be a young attractive mum... thats all. Any child who has entered puberty will have a sex drive. the child should be perfectly okay with turning yo a parent if they are SA'ed, if they are being pressured to have sex against their will, or (and especially) if the kid *WANTS* to become sexually active. In that last case, the parents have one choice. They can forbid their child to be sexually active, in which case they will almost certainly make poor choices, or they can make sure the child has a safe place to have sex, and they have everything they need to protect themselves from pregnancy, STDs and they only have sex with those they respect, and those who respect them. Blaming a 14 year old for getting pregnant is blaming the wrong responsible party. Your 14 year old got pregnant because she was not provided with the support she needed to avoid getting pregnant.

I think in most situations, the first reaction to a kid that age being pregnant should be “oh no, sweetie. Did something happen?” Rather than automatically assuming it’s the kid’s fault. Like, if I hear the words “pregnant 14 year old” my automatic assumption is csa / statutory rape, not “this kid is so irresponsible, and this is clearly entirely their fault.”
