I won’t go on another cruise. They nickel and dime you for everything, I could buy three months of internet for what I was charged for five days. I tip generously but they then added $80 for tips. I had more fun at an all inclusive hotel. No hidden charges everything included good idea

I just returned from New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S., after a cruise on the Viking Mississippi. It was listed as a twelve-day trip, although in truth only seven nights were actually aboard the ship, sandwiched between two-day stays in Memphis and New Orleans hotels. My feeling is that it was priced at a full 12-day cruise rate, despite being “on your own” for lunches and dinners for four days. The suite felt cramped, more so than I recall on Scenic in Europe, and the bed (half a separated queen bed) felt very narrow. The food was up to the standard I expected and the service was good. My friend and I used their air package and will never do that again. There were certainly more reasonably scheduled flights available 14:31 than leaving the West Coast at 5 a.m. and returning at midnight (or 2 a.m. NOLA time). Lesson learned there! Excursions generally interesting and informative. Some of the music in the Living Room was deafeningly over-amped. The infinity pool was half empty. There were no maps available of the localities we visited. Staff helpful and friendly. So, a mixed experience generates a mixed bag of comments!

The app didn’t do a thing while we were on our cruise. And our itinerary on the TV screen was incorrect. And I came home with COVID. Not a good look.

Hav just started to explore cruise options for Alaska, keen to sail on a smaller ship that goes further than the traditional 7 day land/sea options - anyone have any recommendations?

Great vlog ❤ I’m headed to Alaska on NCL Bliss in August. It will be myself, husband, sister and nephew. First time to Alaska and first time cruisers. We want to plan a Mediterranean cruise with NCL in 2026 if we end up liking the cruise line. Can’t wait!

re the video: excellent overall, but the written descriptions of the voice-over were sometimes hilarious. Some of the tours seem too difficult for people with walking difficulties but they do have less walking tours, apparently. Seems Viking really does take good care with details and service and sometimes "free" airfares". Weather (rain) is a factor especially in northern Europe. Now I want to take all their European river tours!

I'll give you another lesson on princess cruises. Princess cruises employ their crew on slave labour rates. For example I was employed as a bar steward with other passenger safety/security duties, working at least 12 hours a day. For this work I was paid 50 dollars A MONTH and expected to make up a decent wage selling cocktails of which I recieved 15%. Keep in mind when you cruise next that the service crew are slaves and are paid slaves wages. I'm speaking from experience.

We just got back from a 15 day cruise down the Rhine & Danube rivers on the Travelmarvel - Capella (very new boat) and it was excellent. They have done away with those tiny balconies on the Viking boats and made the rooms bigger by having an electric window the full width of the room where the top half slides down to create your balcony instead which is much better. Plus Viking boats are full of Amercans (and they are loud people with little manners so beware if you are from another country) The travelmarvel boats have a mix of British, New Zealand, Australian & others and we found them all excellent to cruise with. The staff on the boat were excellent and very efficient. Our room was very comfortable and so was the bed & pillows. We were abe to store our two suitcases under the bed so it freed up space in the wardrobe. All the daily cruise data was also available on TV in the room as well as other means. The back bar on the boat had that Irish Pub theme & happy Hour every evening with half price drinks was excellent option to the front lounge area. There were some very elderly people in their 90's on the boat and i really don't think it is suitable for their age group as you need to be active & reasonable fit & mobile for the daily routine of river cruising on and off the boat. After the river trip from Amsterdam ended in Budapest we then tripped around Europe using the rail system (first class Euro-pass) and found that "really enjoyable" doing our own thing and covered a lot of ground on the high speed trains hopping from one country to another & staying in hotels along they way. We started our journey flying into London & ended up back in London & did some train hopping around there as well from Kent in the south to Yorkshire in the north before heading back to London to fly back home (not before visiting the Tower of London & seeing the crown jewels which was pretty cool) Overall now that we have done the river cruise which was on our bucket list i don't think we would do another, but instead we would go back and use the train network which is an excellent way of getting around both Europe and the UK

if you have to "pay off" aka finance your cruise, you should not go on one. If you can't pay cash then it's too expensive...

Hi people that have already taken a Virgin cruise..@ 1:25 in the video it says that the regular room is a bed at night and a couch during the day. I know that was intended but I had heard they really stopped doing that as it was too time intensive to switch every cabin from bed to couch and back again. Personally I'd just like a short cushion where the end of the couch should be instead of a hard shelf. Anyway, are we able to change the setup oursleves? does the steward do it? or is the narrator incorrect? Thanks knowlegable friends!

♿️ it would be helpful if you included comments and observations in your videos about accessibility on these cruise boats for wheelchair users. In the first 10 seconds of your video, I saw a step from the gangway ramp up onto the ship. Fail!

Can you recommend a seasoned Alaska travel agent? Looking to do a 2026 Alaska Land and Sea cruise tour. Need a seasoned professional that can help us narrow down the itinerary, Holland vs Princess, as well as excursions. We are also undecided about northbound versus southbound. Sounds like they both have pros and cons. Love your channel, thank you.

I would not rely on the laundry room. We were on a cruise last week in Alaska. On our floor, not all washers and dryers were working properly. There was often a long wait for using the washers and dryers, and one time, the washer we were using did not drain, and we had to run the cycle a second time. Then we had to carry our wet laundry to another floor in search of a working dryer
