I love this method!! Easy … my aunt still blanches her tomatoes and peels them hot BY HAND then hand grinds them… thennnnnn strains it to start canning. Smh… the juicer is fast and easy and with her calm voice and confidence she made filling directions so easy. ❤

If you can, place a net overhead and that should help keep your garden untouched by those birds.

Oddest garden I've ever had. All the vegetation has been vibrant and lush. Then, all of a sudden my tomato plants started looking like yours. Blight I guess?? I had the most beautiful 5' x 20' foot cucumber row ever. Maybe picked 20 or 30 and they died overnight. Tallest pepper plants I've ever had. Full of bloom. Very few peppers. Pole beans are beautiful. Very few beans. I'm 66 and this will be a almost total fail two of the last three years. I hadn't had that many in the previous 40 years. I'm not a farmer or homesteader so I think I'm done.

Can you tell me the shelf life when processed this way?
@sewcrazy423
@sewcrazy423 4 күн бұрын
The only reason this method has been "approved" is because the USDA has not tested it to death. This method works because you used clean and sanitary methods with the appropriate processing time. Great job!!

I am going to give this a shot. I guess you don't pre cook them just soak them? We grow alot of potatoes and I hate losing so many around mid winter from spoilage.

I started having deer problems last year after gardening for 31 years in the same spot. I eliminated the problem. I've been visited once this year, knock on wood. Nibbled on the bush beans and left. I don't have the answer as to why unless it was the Sevin dust. And contrary to what they tell you, it mixes and sprays very well! Doesn't clog your sprayer. And once it sets up on the leaves it takes more than a shower or two to wash it off. Goes a long way. That's why they tell you you shouldn't put it in your sprayer!😂

I lived on SW Virginia back in the 1960s. My grandmother would fix half runner green beans often during the summer. They are my favorite green bean.

I hate to tell you this but the deer problem also happens in towns and cities. I live in a small city in Canada, well last spring I couldn’t figure out why all the Lillie’s in my colourful Lilly garden in the front yard were all gone. Spring came and all that was there was soil. Through the cold winter I guess they pulled ate them all. The only thing I seen were hoof marks and a young ornamental crabapple tree that resembled a tooth pick. I’ve seen many deer in the area but they are sneaky.

I always get a few plants out in front of my chicken lot because it's sloped. And the rain washes out the seeds from the scraps I feed them. But I must have 50 tomato plants this time! I haven't trimmed in front of the lot in weeks because we are under severe drought. I've even started tending the bigger ones. I've gotten some beautiful late season tomatoes before doing this.

I have heard of it, but never been able to get my hands on it or an idea how to make it. I want to try this, thank you so much! I can see a few things might try this with for sure. And thank you for being who you are and showing it always. This is why I watch and trust what your doing. I had to stop myself thinking of a short-cut because somethings are well worth the wait.

That was something we were eating when i was a kids, me and my 3 older sisters. My older sister was babysitting us all day because mom and dad were working all day so our older sis. Made us mac'n tomatoes juice almost each day for lunch. I remember , before pouring the juice in the macaroni, she put a few big spoon of butter and a few of cheez whiz ,mix till is all melted and the poured the tomatoes juice in....Wow it soooo good and comforting food. The taste of butter with the juice.....wow....Still make it today after 50 years !!!!❤😂
