I just ordered the mini MLC but am a bit annoyed with the amount of padding for the laptop compartment. I don’t travel mainly with a laptop or tablet. It’s rare. So now I’m thinking about this in the 32L. Would you say this bag has a softer, smaller electronic footprint?

hmm, where would you be using this? For travel? or for hiking/everyday? I think the mini MLC is much better than these black holes for travel. I don't think they have too much less padding than the the MLC.

It looks like a sick backpack, but unfortunately I'm not a very big fan of all black backpacks. I definitely prefer the green one to the new version (I personally would not have minded seeing some more colors either; black to me is just boring).

Hello from Ouray, Colorado! Thank you for this great video that covers this affordable 1 bag travel pack option! My wife and I want to gradually ramp up flex expat travel (just traveling around to the limit a tourist visa allows; then moving on) after I quit working in a few years. In the interim, I travel for work and would love to start “practicing “ 1 bag traveling. I guess I should clarify, I would also carry a smaller pack as a personal item too. This Tom Toc looks like a great way to start!

Greetings and thanks for the comment. Yes, this is a great way to start, just keep in mind that it is a little smaller than 40L, and most airlines will allow a 45ish L pack. So for onebag travel where every liter counts, other bags may work well too. Enjoy your travels!

I think this color and model are the best looking osprey they’ve ever made and with how high quality their products are, looks are the only thing that was really lacking.

I 1000% agree. This is my 2nd Osprey pack ever, and I've been interested their products for almost 10 years. Simply because....they did make ugly packs, especially with their old logo. @@hamburglar4843the Tomtoc 40L is an incredible bag…for its price. It’s half the price of this Osprey. This farpoint is by far the better bag, and one of the best I’ve ever used. You’ll enjoy it! Assuming the non removable hip strap doesn’t bother you

You can technically add a luggage strap on your own as the lash points on the back panel are perfect for a strip of nylon + g hooks or any rope + carabiner.

Could be a stupid question. How do you think this is for a travel backpack for just a few days of clothes? Going to japan for 4 weeks and just want something for clothes that I can carry on to the plane. Looking for something and gonna have to buy online because there's no stores around me that sell travel backpacks, only suitcases so im tryin to do a bunch of research.

there are no dumb questions! Just kidding there are, but yours is a good one. This is perfect for a few days go clothes since its smaller than 40L, especially for Japan since they have strict weight requirement for carry-ons. I recently went to Japan as well. I would recommend this one for sure.

Im pretty sure the black version you're reffering to is the navy version. They also have a black one one their site. The wallet is just the normal ekster wallet on their site.

Their shoes are garbage now. I bought a pair of penny loafers that came with a six in scratch. When I requested an exchange they were quick to act. The second pair arrived with mismatched color and in some places no color at all. I requested a refund and so far no action on their part at all except to tell me they received my email. This has been going on two weeks. It seems like they don’t like to refund your money. It costs less for them to send you another pair of shitty shoes that probably cost them pennies on the dollar than refund $200. I’ve been a customer since their inception but no more. I’ll spend my money on quality shoes like Allan Edmonds or Bruno Magli. Caveat Emptor!!

Yes the color of the kislux is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…

Albeit not a 'carry-on' product but I am another disgruntled customer. I have the 'Check-in' in Tarmac, and the hingest snapped off after one use. Floyd had to be chased to respond to my support ticket and even then they just gave me a UK company I had to arrange my own repair with. My advice is to avoid avoid avoid. Their service and product is not representative of their premium price.

No one is talking about this, but the biggest thing i hate about this bag are 2 things 1) it doesnt stand at all... not even the slightest 2) when you lock the magnetic buckle of the main compartment and u sling ur back on ur back really hard with ur rightarm, the buckle flies OPEN!!! super annoying

The biggest thing for me with this show is that little rubber logo on the back of the midsole. I’ve had chucks and when they get worn down their logo tears off putting a hole in the shoe making it useless. Maybe Thursdays sole is rock hard and won’t wear down that much

I understand that both sides of the shoe will get creased overtime, but on the toe box area as well? It looks hedious when the toe portion creased up, they should hardened the front of the sneakers or reinforce it.

They get creased not only on both sides of the shoes, but also on the front as well on the toe? How's that, some shoes of similar style don't get creased in the front, but this, is all over.

Security is top-of-mind for me when it comes to a backpack. The YKK zippers do allow for a small TSA-approved lock to be used to lock the two zipper pulls together. A little pocket for small important documents, such as a passport, would be nice and it should be located on the shoulder strap side of the backpack so that the user's back prevents anyone from reaching in and accessing the contents while the backpack is being worn.
