@@dottiewatson6864 there were multiple typos on the book & it was pulled by the publisher. They are working on it. I did manage to get a copy and so, while there is no official word, I can confirm the editing was poor. It is, however, such a powerful and beautiful book that I pray it will soon be back on the market and changing lives.

The program is called the “Our Lady of Fatima Rosary Crusade;” Our Lady asked the children to pray 1/3 of the Rosary everyday. This indicates that the Rosary could be divided into three sets of mysteries and that indicates that there were only three sets mentioned in this request. There may be merit in praying the more recently added Luminous Mysteries, but, for these reasons, those are not usually included in any Fatima devotions.

the fact that Strickland recommends it is rather a point against in my book, but if CC also endorses, means it's not an intimidate yuck. Some of the chapter titles are like stating Conservative and Traditionalist errors. Liberal Society is not always Secular, Liberal Society is always Pluralistic. Hi Deanna. I’m still catching up on videos. Thank you for talking about this book as I purchased it awhile back when you spoke about it as you know. However, I haven’t taken time to dig into it. On a secondary note, you are so correct about trying to have quiet time with our Lord before Mass. There is often chatting happening among parishioners. Very distracting when trying to pray. God bless, Linda

There is actually some debate on whether St Francis was actually a deacon or not. I’ve met a Franciscan priest who told me he was convinced he wasn’t, as there was a rule in the Middle Ages that the only people who were allowed to read the Gospel at Mass were deacons and the founders of religious orders, which St Francis obviously was. I don’t have a dog in that fight, but it’s interesting that it’s possible that he was a pure layman all his life
@DeannaWillistonOFS
@DeannaWillistonOFS Ай бұрын
That St. Francis was a deacon is explicit, although with explanation of how it came to be, in Celano’s Legend in the story of the institution of the Greccio. Some translations say he was dressed as a Levite as he was a Levite and others use the word “deacon.” From his actions, it would seem deacon is the correct modern translation. He did read the Gospel, but not did not preside over the Mass, but the detail about his clothing implies deacon.

@@DeannaWillistonOFS I’m not saying you’re wrong as I don’t know the source material on this, but I am saying there is an ordained Franciscan priest who directly disagrees with you. I don’t know what provision he was referring to where founders of religious orders had specific roles during liturgies, but if it did exist, it could explain why he would be vested at Mass if they had a special role in the recitation of the gospel, and maybe even preaching (though I’m not sure if the priest in question referred to him actually preaching or not).
