Great video. The problems with Angeball are there in plain sight every time Tottenham play. The Ange fan boys will hate this video lol. But with this style of football too many men are thrown into advanced positions. This is a problem for a number of reasons but nobody is there to receive an easy or effective pass. When Tottenham are in possession and trying to build an attack the opponent is so often defending on the front foot and Tottenham players are receiving the ball with their backs to goal. How anybody legitimately finds this brand of footy entertaining is laughable. If you look at this whole season Ange ball has only ever actually worked in those moments where the opponent affords them space, fails to set up against them properly and gives them space in behind. For all other times and once coaches figured him out, Tottenham are awful at unlocking defences. Like amateurish football in the premier league as they meander about with u-shaped passing over and over again. Ange is also too rigid in his same old build up patterns like in this video so that’s why you see this problem appear over and over again in every game. This manager stifles creativity.

In order to maintain a highline you need cbs with high recovery pace to not be vulnerable to counter attacks, name one center back except varane and martinez that we have that can do that. you think this problem is not visible to ten hag?? He has to play like this in order to score or else they would sit back and park the bus and try to hit on the counter. Maguire/lindelof/evans cannot push higher up the pitch because they are box defenders and have been throughout their lives and were bought by different managers with different styles of play.

I think a very reasonable and sensible argument out forward by some fans is that he should adapt and change . Also I strongly disagree with the latter where you said we have to sit back and hit on the counter , this is what United have been doing all season . Sit back and hit on the counter . There has no been no style of play under ETH , even last season he had a full fit squad against Liverpool and lost 7-0. I agree with what you said about maguire , lindelof and evans and hence why I am ETH in these players need to go first but conceding 30+ shots every game is an issue

cases like 7-0, 6-3 will happen again if you dont replace the players with the wrong mentality. Because these players turn up when they want to. I disagree that last Season there was no style of play as it was clearly visible in games like leicester, bournemouth, spurs, chelsea, barcelona where we were building up with less number of passes and using the width of the pitch and beating the teams convicingly. But not against the big teams because he was aware of the beatings this squad can get if he plays his conventional style with these players. Last year he managed pretty well.

@@pranjalchoudhary5387 maybe you don’t know what highline means. Playing highline means you catch fowards in offside position while playing your defense higher up the pitch while also you are compact with your midfield . United’s defense was disconnected from the midfield.

@@pranjalchoudhary5387 there was a huge gap in between defenders and midfielders and the reason behind that was midfield went pressing with the foward while the defenders stayed behind. You press together to be close to each other. The basics were wrong in that game.

Um, yeah, this nothing different from normal here. This is how he would play with his current tactics anyways. The problem is he expects his wingers to come back to help defensively, and maintain high pressure at the same time. Not the gap in behind the midfield because that is obviously a tactical decision. You can tell this because he also has the wing back pressure higher up, which would usually mean the winger will step back into his position, but it’s left us open more often that the center back. Also, usually only one midfielder pushes the press and the other sits back. Like in the game versus Liverpool, you can see either Kobie or Casemiro stay back while the other pressures multiple times.
