as a canucks fan, who watch most of the games this season. I believe you are wrong. ilya was a cone on offense scored 1 goal in 60 games and had a breakaway in game 7 against skinner hits the side of the net. lindholm and zadorov are okay but didn't do much in regular season until playoffs hit. it was great having them score but, what the bruins paid for the both of them was a reach i don't think they are bad just not as good as what they were paid. jake debrusk on the other hand gets a fresh start alongside a norris winner, 100 point per game player and petterson maybe another 100 point per game player. 5.5 was great and we are under the cap. we changed myers D game aswell Huggys. also I Expect podkolson, hogs to take a step up. ALSO having lekkermaki, lil petey and wallinder in the ahl skys the limit. The bruins don't have that talent because they are trying to compete like pens or caps. that doesn't mean they are gonna be bad its just they reaching like the canucks did with OEL and Loui eriksson instead trying to reset. The main thing is having gonchar a 2 time cup winner as your defense coach is a big asset and having the twins for player dev is insane. most of your staff have made the finals in the last 25 years and have that playoff culture in them.

I had seen last regular season, going into that part of the hockey schedule, the Canucks potentially as a wildcard team, but ended up being blown away with their regular-season success and even in the postseason had some success too.

I see in that division the: - Sharks, Ducks and Flames, in no particular order, likely finish no higher than sixth and thus automatically miss the 2025 postseason - Kraken and Kings be in the mix to finish fifth or higher - Golden Knights, Canucks and Oilers as strongest candidates to finish in that division’s top three

Horrible take on the Bruins tbh. That team is the most well-run organization in the NHL and they tend to find excellent fits for the roles the team needs. Looking forward to year number 99999 in a row where self-proclaimed hockey nerds miss the single most obvious pattern in the history of hockey AGAIN. Oh well. I'll take the layup path to looking like a god damn genius every single year by pointing out that this happens every single season

The Bruins this coming season will have a lot to prove. Perhaps Joonas Korpisalo will be that diamond-in-the-rough in net for the Bruins although that trade last month with the Sens was interesting to say the least. There’s no doubt the Atlantic Division is a very tough division, and I believe that this coming season the Panthers, Leafs, Bruins, Bolts and Wings will be in the mix to finish top-5. To what degree if any the Sens, Sabres or Habs will make a push to finish in the top five of that division remains TBD.

The Sharks are gonna be a playoff team again in 2-3 seasons and then be a contender for many years going forward. It's a damn fine time to be a Sharks fan. And that's saying a lot considering they just had their worst season since their first 2 years as a franchise.

Parascak looked great in the development camp and down the line, if he moves to LW he could be a really good feeder for Leonard. Washington doesn't have many open spots on the roster so if it takes 2 years for Parascak that's fine. As for his skating, that's what Wendy is for. Eiserman reminds me of Sprong. I don't think he ever becomes a franchise scorer.

As a Flyers fan it's understood that this past season was a massive overachievement. It's a given the team is going to be pretty bad for at least the next few seasons and after years of the failed Chuck Fletcher experiment, we're embracing the rebuild. Hoping Michkov is as good as advertised as Briere can build a contender around him in time.

6:28 If it wasn't for the ghost of Cam Neely still haunting the Canucks organization, Virtanen would have been moved a couple years before the allegations. He was big, and could skate, but that was it. He had no head for the game, and no finish. Plays died on his stick. Such potential just wasted.

I was critical of the Parascak pick only because of who they passed up on, (I thought that Eiserman and Connelly both should've been picked in the top 15), but this is still a guy who put up 100+ in the WHL last season. Yes he has some skating concerns and will be a longer-term project, but that's fine when the current core of McMichael, Lapierre, Miro and Leonard have all started to come into their own. I would not call him a "massive reach" either, most rankings had him between 25-35, only a little below where the Caps actually selected him. You also never know the conversations that were had, maybe GMBM was trying to trade down from pick 17 but nobody else was willing to bite. I have him as my third ranked prospect in Washington's system, although I recognize that he's likely at least three years away from being NHL ready. Still a great video overall, liked your player analysis and glad to see that there are more Caps creators on the platform to provide their takes on the team!
