Think about it: He resides at a tree with golden fruit (the forbidden fruit is sometimes portrayed as being golden), he has demonic horns and red eyes, and he's the only ghost who has a "ghost tail" so his body is more "snake-like". Or maybe I'm just looking too deep into a game about a yellow sphere who eats fruits.
