I think it’s partly because no one really cares about much in the sense that everything was free will. People have ragged on Joey Turner’s videos because “ew they have hands we’re no better than AEG” but it was for fun so shit argument there, the show was shit at the time, so people would jab it in videos which no one else was doing, & that’s what I feel was a major component in this fandom’s come up, & all the videos from that time. I’ll always love what we’ve become & how much our skills & knowledge in making videos has grown, but there’s always something special about those older days where there were no rules to abide to

I’ve been trying to make a Wooden Railway custom, and I’m having trouble painting the eyebrows and eyes for the face. I’m having trouble making the eyebrows look identical to each other, be not too big and not being wonky. Same goes for the eyes. Do you have any advice on how I can make the eyes and eyebrows look consistent with each other, not be wonky and not be too big? I am using a very thin paint pen to do that painting.
@ScrapyardStudios14 күн бұрын
Trial & error with this tbh. For eyebrows, if they come out too big, I usually trim them carefully with a toothpick. Hope that helps

Almost a year late, but i just found this so why not I get what you're saying, sticking to headcannon can be so stupidly annoying, considering how much lacking there is, but some TVS exclusive characters can be nice, such as arthur, murdoch, and molly. Anyways, here's a bunch of things in my AU bc why not: Edward dies after exploit Henry is a GNR C1 numbered 1300, a real life engine who had a smaller firebox and also looked a lot different compared to the normal Gordon is an A2 James is a CR 34 and used to work with donald and douglas Percy and Pug are brothers (tho percy was built in 1935 and Pug 1955) Toby is an LNER Y6 (same as original except older and an 0-4-0) Pretty much all I feel like doing rn, maybe ill update this when i expand upon this

Plus, what Wilbert Audrey said, doesn’t really make any sense because when Thomas went to York, there was a lot more engines that had faces the only engine didn’t have a face was Stevenson’s white rocket and that was it

It was always the dream until it became the reality. Most think its just throwing coal on a fire and letting it burn. You need a good draft, clear grate, good coal (n9t much of that in the 60s 😂) . Ive only done it on traction engines, but its a bloody hard job. Over firing it just makes clinker, then your fire bars start to melt if you dont clear it. And at the end of the day, trying to get the fire bars out when theres a lump of clinker holding everything together.. not the best

Studying other art styles to see what I like is one of my favorite things to do, so this video is always nice to come back to. I like your editing and your commentary. My notes for my favorites are: Clive- I LOVE his colors. They’re both so bright and livley. The trains look wonderful too, though I find it distracting how similar the faces can get. It’s a bit unnerving. I do like the expressions a lot though! Payne- I like the colors and the faces a lot. The smoke looks so good I can taste it 😋 The specific illustrations you showed had a warm looking tone I really liked too! Marshall- Her colors too are vibrant as you said, and that one at 6:01 has my whole heart! Very magical indeed, I could stare at it for hours~ Kenny- I tend to lean towards more stylized styles, so his work is like eye candy for me! I love the colors and the textures and the FACES. Oh the faces! Chefs kiss~ Edwards- I love the colors, especially the darker ones. Really stands out and creates a cool mood! The expressions stand out so much to me, oh and I love the little details he adds. And that illustration from Stepney’s special? THE LIGHTING. THE LIGHTING it’s so gorgeous and warm and I WISH I could color like that so much~ the perspective looks great too! Hodges- I love those smoke rings they’re so cute! I love how his looks like pictures taken at the scene. The watercolor textures are lovely to look at as well~ A quick TLDR is that I really love colors and bright ones at that 😅

My method for custom making (it's probably not a good technique for everyone) is get an idea and start working as I go with the model... I usually never have a plan as following instructions/plans is not how I like doing things🤣 I have only ever drawn out something once, as it will require different techniques and materials I've never tried before 💀
