whats ur opinion, does 2 stroke oil mix with e85?
@mechanicalwarriors20 күн бұрын
Personally I have never done an experiment with 2stroke and e85 but I would just stick to klots racing caster oil it’s smells amazing with e85 ! :)
@zior800114 күн бұрын
All though I want to try out that Klotz BeNOL 2 stroke oil with e85 mainly for the great cherry-like smell it has when carbureted. It does mix well with e85 according to the manufacturer. Even if you used my fav Castor 927 2stroke race oil. That stuff is very thick, mixes easy in e85 without signs of separation, burns clean, smells decent once carbureted, and has been my go-to for close to 10 years... If you do decide to get e85 fuel. Check out the company called Torco race fuel. They have an e85 based fuel that's a bit better for a good price. A 5gal of it is like $60 and shipping is like $50. Of course shipping prices can vary from state to state.

How does octane ratings in Aus compare to NA? Typically the highest rating I see here in Canada is 93 or 94 and guys will use that up to about the same you are saying, 16psi. I have a friend running 93 and just water injector up to about 21psi. Just curious if the octane numbers are different from here to there?
@mechanicalwarriors2 ай бұрын
94 is just normal unleaded we have here premium 98 which is good for around 16 to 18 pound depending on your setup but beyond that u need to switch to a alcohol based fuel to run higher boost
@jesseaumiller86882 ай бұрын
@@mechanicalwarriors I see, the scale must be different, regular here is 87, premium is 91, then some stations will have an “extra premium” at 93 or 94 depending on the brand.

@@jesseaumiller8688 that’s very interesting! I had no idea of this why would they do this I wonder ??
@jesseaumiller86882 ай бұрын
@@mechanicalwarriors so did a bit of googling; AUS uses a RON laboratory test to determine fuel octane rating. There is a different type of lab test called MON. Canada and the US uses the average of RON and MON in a scale labelled as AKI. So in AUS 95 (RON) is equal to 87 (MON) and in Canada/US it is the average of the two, so 91 (AKI)…. Good to know!

You should tell your viewers that klots racing castor in de-gum. You can buy normal castor oil very cheap but it does leave a sticky film after being burnt in a RC motor at 20% oil to methanol. I've got bottles of methanol and castor mixed which a few years old and still perfect. I like to see you experiment with just normal castor oil if it'll will gum up your motor cheers Graham
@mechanicalwarriors2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tip
@mechanicalwarriors20 күн бұрын
Yeah I believe it would gum up the motor because your right klots is a de-gum refined oil I will remember this next time I talk about it :)
@theaussienurseflipper.81132 ай бұрын
I think that castor oil you are using is being de-gum racing castor. (Is it 100% castor or a mix) Normal castor oil look like a very light honey. My son flies radio control planes and race ones will go 320 kilometres an hour they use methanol with castor oil. I don't know if with petrol but on our methanol it mixes and stays mixed. It's funny with a worn out nitro motor, castor oil kind of help increase the compression. You get a motor running it on methanol with synthetic oil and it won't start but we'll run with castor oil, as it gum it up a bit. That's a 4 to1 oil to methanol. The best thing about castor oil it is attracted to heat. Cheers Graham

@BeaverLakeMotorsports3 ай бұрын
A major point you forgot to mention is that avgas contains TEL and you don't want to use that stuff period, destroys sensors and generates lead sludge internally in the long run. So, unless the engine is carburated or doesn't have oxygen sensors forget about avgas.

I'm really impressed that small 1.3L 13b, 2.0L 20b, 2.6L 26b. Can sound like a much larger displacement Big block V-8 but has the ability to Rev to 6000rpm+ where large V-8's lose this capability capability at anything over 7000rpm in most cases. I would like to put a turbo 13b into projects. However I don't know where to find rotary engine swap parts, or what transmissions can be used with them.
@mechanicalwarriors4 ай бұрын
Depends on what u want to do, a 13b can rev up to 11,000 rpm and still make crazy power. However at that RPM u have to be careful on gearbox internals as the high rpm can destroy bearings and other parts
@michaellk22542 ай бұрын
Tbh since it's more of a L*2 of displacement. That is because each power stroke happens at 360 degrees compared to 720 degrees in a piston engine. You have two times the power strokes per 720 degrees.
