If you sift the flour into it initially it’ll mix easier. Also sprinkle a little flour on your board or counter and it won’t stick so bad

Will it matter what temperature the water is? I know some recipes call for warm water so just curious.

Hi Larry, I live in Mission Texas about an hour from you and I have a ton of spider mites(I think) and caterpillars (I think) not sure what’s eating my plants but something is. What do you use to control pests? Thank you for sharing !

Garden well, maybestill looks great. I was going to plant plant purple hulls this spring but we forgot. Planted bush and pole Blue Lakes, Pinto and Anastasia beans. Fungus got every plant, never harvested a single pod. Oh well, maybe nest spring. We live up atLake Corpus Christi.

Every time I watch your garden I wonder what i am doing wrong here in Cameron , where the heat has almost killed all my plants. I hardly got tomatoes and my peppers are looking very bleak. Its Funny , I am from the Caribbean and I see that you are growing Bananas . I have planted some mangoes and hoping they survive. We may need Your Green Thumb.. Smile. The heat is the biggest problem. I try to plant as early as possible to get ahead of it. That said, Mangoes will need some protection from the cold. Good luck! 🤠

Where did you purchase the purple hull pole seeds from?

The original seeds were Quickpick Pinkeye from Victory Seeds. I purchased 2 4 oz packages about 4 years ago. Have been planting saved seeds since then. Still have one of the original packages left. 🤠

Great video and informative. We live north of you, at Lake Corpus Christi. Question, what variety of peppers did you plant. Thanks
@DeepSouthTexas9 күн бұрын
I do not know the exact type. About 10 years ago my wife purchased a heart shaped wreath of peppers from some place in New Mexico. After many years I tried planting some of the seeds from the peppers in the wreath. They have great germination, and produce bunches of peppers. They are a little too hot for me for cooking, but do make a pretty good hot sauce. One pepper in a quart of dill pickles makes them all pretty hot. 🤠

This looks so amazing, I just had a quick question as this is my first time making bread! My dough is firmer/harder to knead than yours looks. Not sure if my hands are just small and weak haha, or if there's a difference in flour or something since I'm high altitude (4500 ft). Any thoughts/tips would be appreciated!
@DeepSouthTexas9 күн бұрын
If the dough seems to dry or hard add water 1 tsp at a time. If it seems too wet or sticky, add some more flour 1 tsp at a time. I like my dough on the soft and sticky side. 🤠

I’m in Cameron County zone 10a. I’m new to gardening and was wondering what’s vegetables i can plant in august or for the fall. I was also wondering if i can plant tomatoes in a couple months for a fall harvest?
@DeepSouthTexas9 күн бұрын
I have no luck with tomatoes in the fall, though some people down here do. I will be planting onion seeds in the garden in September. I will be starting cabbage and broccoli seeds indoors on the 1st of October, and will transplant them into the garden November 1st. Here is a link to a video on my planting schedule. 🤠 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y6mapsRyltTUZok.html

Hi Larry, do you sell shaving brush tree seeds or cuttings? I would like to buy some if possible. Thank you
@DeepSouthTexas9 күн бұрын
Sorry, I do not sell items. I had to go to the internet to check on the seeds. Thousands of flowers fall every year, but I have not seen any seeds in them. I will take a closer look next year. This tree is very cold sensitive, if you get any freezing weather it will not do well. 🤠

@@DeepSouthTexas Hi Larry, thank you for your response. The fruits look kind of like giant Okara that point down. I have looked all over for pink shaving brush tree seeds or un rooted cuttings. If you ever want to sell either I can pay you right away. Thank you

❤️ Have never seen a man make kuchen before. And never outside of North and South Dakota. 😆 Kuchen is a staple at nearly every family gathering or special event. Yours look perfect! A traditional kuchen is one with dry curd cottage cheese rather than fruit. Also quite tasty. Apricot or cranberry are my personal favorite. (Fresh cranberries simmered in sugar and water and slightly thickened with cornstarch. ) My own grandma would brush a thick layer of jam on the bottom of her kuchen before filling with custard. The jam would match the fruit used. This really ups the flavor. Really enjoying your channel. Thanks for all of your work doing this!
