Trying to figure out the best order to watch your videos in. Did you start with How to make a Template, and then build on that? I think I would get the most out of your videos if I watch them in order as you build the song. Can you post a list of the recommended order to watch your videos? Thanks for some really helpful videos that clearly show how it's done step by step. They are awesome

Yes I started with how to make a template first. I will be dividing up the videos into Playlists soon. Hopefully that will make it easier to find what you are looking for. If you need any help or would like to request a video feel free to out, leave a comment or you can email me at [email protected] Thank you for watching!!

I have two playlists up now. One for free plug-ins and one called getting started where I put the order I would start In. I hope this helps!

Now I’ve found, at least with amp sims, is that it’s better to leave your input signal low and raise the gain stage afterwards because it cuts down on the noise floor and acts like the drive/gain knob on an amp. Especially on the quiet parts

Hello again... I forgot to ask, does the formula -6 -12 also apply to musical instruments??? - Thank you...🎶

Yes -6 to -12 is what I use to record every instrument with.

During vocal recording, can we also use a limiter???-Thank you...
@Mixdown_Master2 ай бұрын
If you are using a limiter because of volume issues that would not be a good idea, and you should find the source of the volume issues. If you are using a limiter in a creative or artistic way then it's fine. I just wouldn't recommend using the limiter due to underlying vocal volume levels not being correct. It's best to find the source of the issue to give a better take.

Thanks for the video. I am new to recording and also new to Studio One, so I have a steep learning curve ahead. I am reading the Studio One Manual, but following a video makes things go much faster. Thanks again for your help.

you can also put a reverb or compressor at the input (black) channel. you put it as an insert like in any other track channel.

You just earned a subscribe to day. Now, help me here. When I am recording in Studio One 6, the vocal waveform is too THIN as if it is just a line and I can't hear what I recorded until I drag it up to Zoom. Please help me!!!!

Be sure the gain knob on your interface is adjusted properly before recording. Also, I am not sure what gear you are using, but depending on the microphone, it may require more or less gain, or in some instances, a cloud lifter of some kind. Hope this helps! Thank you for watching and subscribing!

Can you do this with a sampled loop to get it on time? Sometimes i chop a loop and it just doesnt match when i lay the snares down. Ive been looking for a fast way to deal with this

As long as it's an audio track, it should work. Just be careful how much you stretch the note, or you might get artifacts in the sound.

Why are you mixing with the click track on? And why do I think I keep hearing the phone ring lol
@Mixdown_Master3 ай бұрын
The ringing you hear is part of the song lol. I use a click track to keep everything in time, I have done it this way since the tascam days of recording. Just my personal preference 😀

This TOPIC has been done for 15+ yrs. Too much repeating yourself. No PRESET is going to be right for any Vocalist (each needs tweaking per VOX)... I can go on but no time for it! One thing i will agree is pull the TOTAL MIX down to taste while Tracking Vocals ( a lot more focus on His or Her Vocals going in!)
