Do these overwinter outdoors? I purchased two in nursery containers for planting in the ground. Impressive growth! Are they perennial outdoors, or do I need to dig them up and bring them inside over winter? Zone 6b

Better than being drowned by complete submersion
@kimberleeturner84756 күн бұрын
Why submerge them if it's not natural to be drowned growing in the wild ? If they receive water through leaves, why soak the root and risk root rot ?
@i_vsen16 сағат бұрын
In the wild they grow on surfaces of trees from where they get continuous nutrients and even water. When growing in home this is right way. Especially where humidity is too low. Root rot will happen if you submerge and forget to pick it out.

THANK YOU!! I just do not understand why ppl cut and break apart the roots!... then wonder why the plant is not doing well. I let my plants dry out so I can just pop them out of the pot. Then before they ever get a new pot all I do is add a few rocks at the bottom more dirt and pop them back in! I had a Philodendron Tree (like the one you showed) that was in the same pot from when I got it in 2013 (no idea how long she'd been in there before I brought her home) until abt 2mo ago. She was beyond happy with no issues. Again... thank you for telling ppl to leave the roots alone! 🥰

Thanks for the tutorial! I have a very long, dangly prickly pear-type cactus at home that I need to re-pot into a larger habitat, though I have no idea how to get it out of the pot it is currently in, especially since it has a smaller baby cactus in the same pot. I worry that trying to take it out, no matter how gently I handle it, will damage the cactus or make it fall out of shape or even break off. Any advice?

Do you send plants by mail? I live in Minnesota and have 3 cold hardy cacti, 2 of them native. I'm looking to expand my cactus garden. I lived in California and Texas and loved having cactus. Thanks.

Totally agree! Deeper watering less often. Although as it's not stopped raining here in Wales, it's not really an issue!

They are pretty cool! I've been growing Cherry Mocha for several years with good success in southern ontario. Last year I overwintered a new selection called "like a latte" with purple foliage and white flowers and they're doing great. With last winter being so mild the Cherry Mocha came back from the wood!

Are there any perennials we should be aware of that do better when you plant more than one...that need cross-pollination?
@GroovyPlantsRanch2 ай бұрын
Cross pollination is important for setting fruit. So it shouldn't affect the perennials.

Was at your nursery today. Bought a. Butterfly bush because it's deer resistant. I did more reading at home and discovered it is very invasive and will crowd out natives. Dissapointed that your are irresponsible in offering this. Going in trash. Big waste.

If you still have it, please bring it back and we will get you a refund. Although in our part of Ohio they do not spread like they do in warmer places. I have never seen one become agressive in central Ohio.
