Great learning. Interested to go into this farming venture with our local integrator.

Just wondering how the Ayrmesh is doing? I have been thinking of trying it for a couple of years. The line of sight might be my biggest issue. I’m in WV. They do have repeaters. Like the videos. All information is valuable and appreciated. Thanks

I have a poultry farm in Ashland AL and my WiFi service works but isn’t very strong at my control rooms where I need it most I guess what asking is it worth it so far
@FarmerHunt4 күн бұрын
So far I really like it. It sends the signal to several locations on our farm. There are some spots where it doesn't pick up because the line of sight is blocked. I think we will be able to buy some other devices to help improve certain spots and also hopefully get wifi inside the chicken houses.

Depending on your needs for cameras a good cheap brand I use is Reolink I have a solar powered PTZ(pan tilt zoom) camera had 2 of them for 1.5 years never needed to charge them solar works great

Someone else recommended the Reolink also. Thank you! I have looked into them some but have not ordered any yet.

Guys I’m looking at some cameras 📷 to do videos with instead of my phone I’ve been looking at the action 3 and action 4 cameras they seem to have good reviews. I was wondering what yall use? Or suggest? Thanks.
@FarmerHunt4 күн бұрын
I'm not familiar with those cameras. We use a GoPro and really like it. They do a really good job keeping the footage from being too bad shaky. We do have a DJI drone that we really like so the Action 3 or 4 will probably both be good options.

What is the interval cycle for changing the chicken bedding (sawdust)?
@FarmerHunt9 күн бұрын
We used to always clean out once a year. When the integrator went antibiotic free, they recommended just doing partial clean outs. We went several years doing this, but now we are back to fully cleaning out again and probably will do so about once a year.
@Selvakumar-bl3zo9 күн бұрын
@@FarmerHunt We are in Malaysia and practice cleaning for every cycle, replacing the bedding. For a 40x500 unit, we can only fit 26,000 birds.

just stop using those animals if you actually care about them which is really ridiculous considering what you do (a big oxymoron if you ask me) just turn your farm into an animal sanctuary if you actually love those majestic and gentle creatures it doesn't have to be what you were always taught to believe it needed to be trust me people are starting to wake and more and more people are actually starting to make the change because they realized the real value of these animals and it isn't in what they can offer us (IT'S NEVER IN WHAT THEY CAN OFFER US) AND IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO CHANGE this industry is the actual definition of evil incarnate AND YOU KNOW IT

We had 4 post style houses built in the early 60s. All of out winches was the manual "boat style" hand crank until the last few years then we used the drill set up winch on the feeders. I'm not gonna lie my shoulders and arms look like Popeyes from raising up all the equipment. Letting it down was fun we just let the winch fly !!
@FarmerHunt9 күн бұрын
😂😂 That'd definitely be a good way to get some arm muscles. When I first started I had curtains with a winch. I always hated raising it, mostly because I was always afraid it was going to break and the curtain would fall. We eventually did away with all that though.

Thanks for sharing.. nice to se you thinking about the angle, before starting.. how many layers of plastic? What water% you prefer in you wraphay? Regards from Denmark..
@FarmerHunt15 күн бұрын
Thank you! We typically have the plastic doing a bout a 3-4" space from one roll to the next if that makes sense. Typically a roll of plastic will do about 40 bales. We like our moisture content to be in the high 40's and even 50's if it doesnt' get ahead of us. Occasionally some of it will dry out faster than we can get it baled and it may be in the lower 40's. Thanks for watching. Hope to visit Denmark one of these days.
