John is without a doubt one of the best Wurlitzer players. Went to watch him last month and loved every second.

Blackpool Tower Ballroom's Wurlitzer organ. It is one of the best sounding there is. The Ballroom is just enchanting.

Lovely, but i wish the organists would push the owners to get rid of that midi piano substitute thats so dated and tonally poor! Just my view on it , maybe it sounds ok in person .?

The Tower Wurlitzer organ is probably the most famous of its breed in the world? Everybody has heard of 'the organ' at the tower even if they dont know its a Wurlitzer? People say about job satisfaction? Ask John or Phil about that one?

I cant look at John Bowdler, without thinking of the actor Donald Pleasance! But both great at what they do best! Are we looking at the next resident organist here, when organist Phil Kelsall retires??

When I was at school (53 years ago - ouch!!!) working towards my 'A' level music exam we were given a new dictionary of music - I can no longer remember who compiled it - but being a theatre organ lover even at that age I immediately turned to 'W' and there, to my delight was an entry for 'Wurlitzer Organ'. My delight was short lived as the entry read 'An instrument of the pipe organ family designed to play any anything other than one honest note of music. Its demise is not to be mourned'. OK, that's not the actual wording, but very, very nearly so. I loved them in 1969 and love them as much, if not more, in 2022. Truly wonderful instruments on so many levels. Floreat Robert Hope-Jones and Rudolph Wurlitzer!!

This is so beautiful. Memories of days gone by and even ball games. Came to hear the sound of one that was installed in the old Toronto's Shea Hippodrome, Canada (demolished for new City Hall). The $55,000 Wurlitzer of 1914 now resides in Toronto's famous Casa Loma. My dad lived this era downtown and would love this. Wonderful, happy, upbeat and gorgeous. Thank you Mr. Bowdler.

This is why they named a race horse after John . " Bouncing Bowdler " He is is in my eyes one of the finest organists both on electronic and theatre organ . John can do minimal work with his playing but brings the best out with his technique. I can only describe it as nice clean playing if that makes sense compared to a few others that go way over the top and sound all muffled up

The tones and lilts and resonance of the many pipes, wind driven at always the optimum flow and generated from deep below the stage yet ever present in the air surrounding this magnificent hall and never echoing badly thus giving organist and ballroomer the best value and electricity. Percy, Oxfordshire.

It's the sound from the organ that reflects off the big mirror and spreads round the hall where the people are but not behind and the side because there are big green curtains there so there will be no and the ceiling too pushes the sound downward for better value and the electricity for the people. Clive, Scunthorpe.

The most complex and difficult instrument to play? You have to use both hands and feet for a start.
