Very Nice. I want to sit in with an acoustic bass... or maybe a Shruti box.

Nice Richard! I have played in three Bluegrass Bands, dating to 1976 and played in many festivals and with some great fiddlers, the most notable being Chubby Anthony (he's in the Bluegrass Hall of Fame). Always love the "voice" of how the harmonica and fiddle have a conversation. Nice going Richard.......good solid rhythm too on the "offbeat chop". Nice to see you found a solid fiddle player to partner with.

Hey Richard. Do you think this concept still works and applies to a completely isolated reed? (Only one reed in one channel)

Excellent explanation and props the biggest thing that helped me was the kaaaa sound thank you

Great explanation and really appreciated the info about the effect going TOO far using the slide whistle example! Not I’ll stop trying to push my tongue out the back of my throat 😂

OK .. i had to pause the video and laugh awhile when that giant reed suddenly appeared ... now I'm configuring a giant harmonica and realized you need giant slide whistle at each hole to bend notes ... and I'm late for this party, being 5years ago 😁

Thanks to several of your tools I’ve been able learn to customize harps to overblow easily. Can’t beat your burnishing/embossing tool.

Thanks for the lesson, Richard. Great insight into the learning process. It always inspires me to see what pros go through to get it in their brain, because I don't consider myself to have any innate musical talent but I find myself going through the same process you guys/gals do. Do you custom build those MB30's or can they be purchased online?
@richardroysleigh2 ай бұрын
Thanks for you comments on the video! The MB 30 is not on the market. Brendan Power and Zombor Kovaks came up with this design and I worked with them to make a series of about 50 of these harmonicas. They sold out immediately, and then we discovered how difficult it was to build them. By the time we fulfilled all the orders we did not want to keep making them. They were about 10 times harder to build than we thought they would be.

Thanks so much. Such good playing & so expressive! If you have a link where I could get into the just tuning relationship to the equal temperament. I am wondering how to compromise between the two by having the beats (or detuning) between two similiar notes done up or down to be closer to equal temperament. Ex: if the 3rd note of a scale is too high in equal, then reduce the beats downwards towards the just intonation direction. Please keep posting such beautiful videos.
