I've never used sunscreen. I wear a broad brimmed cotton hat. 😊

In 2018, I sustained Morton's neuroma on my first Camino. I was wearing K*** Durand and the soles broke down around 400 miles. My inexperience pushing the last 100+ miles on in those boots is causing me a lifetime of pain. Since then I have gone through 3 pairs of boots/shoes on two other Caminos. Am curious if any of you have had customized boots that can be resoled. Am looking for suggestions? I hate to keep throwing away shoes after 500 miles.

I have been binge watching all your advice videos about the camino since I am going to be walking the camino frances next June through July. I cannot tell you enough how appreciate I am of you doing all this for us. I am a fellow youtuber and I know this is hard work. So THANK YOU <3

Is it a valid Camino if you walk half in Spring and pickup the last half in the Fall or the following year ? Or do you have to pick one and finish in one go ...

Is it valid to do a Camino in Stages...like half in the Spring and pick it up in Fall where you left off .

I'm curious how much cash you carried on the Camino? Can you get cash along the way? How well did credit cards work out on the trail?

Hello. A question for the group as well as Nadine. We are planning on walking a portion of Via Francigena Luca to Rome this September. We have previously walked Via Frances Ponferrada to Santiago as well as complete Del Norte and Ingles. Beginning to have doubts about Lucca to Rome given accounts of extensive walk along roadways and stints with extensive trash along the landscape. Would appreciate feedback from those that have walked Lucca to Rome with there observations and whether they would encourage or discourage. Thank you

I did the Primitivo a year ago, and my average expense was €35, alternating between public and private albergues, usually one meal at the restaurant and the rest on a picnic. And not many beers and coffees. This does not include travel and stay in Santiago

I hiked St.Olavs in 2022, spectacular, very different scenery. My recommendations are to pre arrange accommodation way in advance. It's more limited than the Spanish caminos, I ended up in some places contacting churches I found on google maps who helped me out with accommodation here and there. The other advice I would give is beware of tics, Ive never been so covered in all my life, and had to pick them all off. I ended up wearing my rain gear through forests and long grass. They even have signs posted warning about them. Thankfully I didn't suffer any adverse effects. Are you including the start which is the St.Olavs Waterway across the Baltic and Åland Islands? If so I have the contact info for the guy who maintains and runs it. Im off to do the Camino Besaya ....one with no information ha ha.. @adambreatheadventure

Thanks, Nadine, for your videos! The audio and visuals are top-notch! One food question: any issue with carrying cheese without refrigeration? I've carried a boccadillo for a few hours but was unsure about longer than that.

Proper footwear is key. I wore a pair of Vessi on my first Camino Frances because I had a bad experience with water getting into my hiking boots previously. Those are fine for short hikes. They didn't match the rigors on a 770km hike where there were sections with gravel and steep downhill. Got proper hiking shoes for Camino Portugues, not a single blister. If shoes are wet from rain, just stuff used news paper in overnight. Should be dry enough in the morning.

Too safe spacer! All this shit is obvious. Let people live. Part of the Camino experience is being and coming across those who need it…..and don’t we all

Backpacker/hostels/alburgues, its all the same to me...regarding being a considerate person. In regards to snoring... Some people aren't always the best sleepers, any other tinnitus suffers out there? Honesty sometimes a 30Km walk is not enough too tire me out enough, to counteract the ringing. If a chronic snorer actually is nice enough to warn others in advance, theyd be resented by others so much less, its a kind gesture! If the snorer is as loud as chainsaw, aside from wishing that they had looked into seeking medical advice, ill usually end up outside the bunk room and find a quiet place to sleep. If im lucky, i might even find a sofa. Yes, you might have to get up earlier and forego using a mattress, but it so rarely snoring is that torturous, im okay with it. And theres always the option, of an ocassional private room. On the longer caminos/hostel journeys, sleep is kind of important, and you have to make it happen somehow.

hi Nadine, I really enjoy your videos! thanks so much! when I did the French way myself a couple of years ago, I also had to go to the bathroom a lot because I drink a lot of water as well. Maybe this is too personal but did you use a she-wee or anything like that or do you just squat? I I had a heckuva time finding the timer place to be able to go to the bathroom so often. Every time I thought I was alone sure enough the minute I would try to go another pilgrim or two would appear on the path! lol. I'm just curious as to how you handled it! in the final analysis, I'm not personally sure that the she-wee itself was worth it. I hope this isn't asking for too much information, but I'm going back in April and I'm trying to figure out how am I going to deal with that aspect of things? thanks again !
