Great video mate! Thanks for sharing. Been watching more and more of these vlog of the WHW to grasp at some more details of route etc. As I hope to run it in the very near future and of course vlog it. Fantastic achievement mate , well done. Dropped a Sub too to follow more of your journey. You'd also have loved Conic Hill mate although there wouldn't have been great views. I've run drymen to conic hill and back, as well as vlogging it and getting the drone up at the top. If you wanted to check it out. Thanks again.

How long did it to you back and forth? My brother is climbing he told me the road was not block I could have drive him to the La Besurta 🙄. He claims there were people who took the car up. Going down back he said he won’t wait for the bus he will ask people if he can go down with him back in the car . 😂

total trip 10hrs plus however we made it round trip, if we went the way we came could of took 1hour or so off it. The road is closed from July to September and you have to take the bus, there is barrier across the road to stop any cars from getting through.

Great to see this StS Alto TR2 Plus in action and good use, so helpful! I got mine a few weeks ago and didn't have the opportunity yet to get out. And that in this beautiful scenery, which you captured so well. BTW - would you mind to correct the title from Altro to Alto, to help for the search engines' indexing 😏

Well done mate that was awsome. Done the Buckle a few times in not quite as bad conditions as you just did. Good decision in getting off when you did . Nothing worse than coming off in the dark, and being on your own you needed to be at the valley floor in daylight.

Are those Scarpa Charmoz boots by any chance? I’ve got a pair and I’ve found that lever lock C2 crampons can slip off them when you least expect it, so much so that I’ve actually bought a new pair of crampons to see if they stay on any better.

You did pronounce Milngavie correctly. With Balmaha, it's Bal-Ma-Ha. Drymen is a bit more difficult to explain in text form. Take the DRI from the start of drill, and add men to the end. It looks like you had a great time.

When i did the WHW it was over 6 days, I stopped in Tyndrum, with the green wellie shop and there also one on the route. I took a Snugpak Special Forces Bivvi Bag, very lightweight which i put over my sleep bag, in my tent just in case of leaks. I used it in my tent during a gale at John O'Groat. You can reproof your walking boots, Nikwax does a sprey for non leather boots and a wax for leather boots.

Just watched again and I seen your situation with the drone I agree when you dropped below the height of the summit the wind would be greatly reduced also if that happens again put your drone into sports mode as this allows the drone to bank into a better angle of attack.. but yes must of been very strong as the air2 is a strong drone.. if your doing a lot of mountain summit camps always strong winds and you want to use your drone alot go for the mavic 3 classic or the pro version big difference in power and up to 40mins flight.. these drones are used by the guys that film animal planet skiing events WRC etc When I take mine to the mountains or flying out at sea handles it no problem.. but your air2 is still a great piece of kit.. your channel is Brilliant mate
@darranmilne9944
@darranmilne9944 9 ай бұрын
Thanks Gareth for your amazing comments really much appreciated. Good shout about the sports mode I should of switched over, I am impressed about how good the drone is in windy condition's. I think once the extreme cold hits like -10 on top of mountains the drone does struggle at times. Will have look at the Mavic Pro looks amazing drone.
@Garethfrostturkeythroat113
@Garethfrostturkeythroat113 9 ай бұрын
@@darranmilne9944 no problem at all I know sometimes in situations like what you have experienced your trying your best to get the drone back and you don’t really have time to think about it as panic mode sets in Going back some time now but first time I powered the mavic 2 pro on I took off and let it hoover about 6ft from ground then for no reason climbed to 250ft then flew away I was doing everything to try and get it back was out just over a mile then it let me take full control back.. Once I got it back and landed I was shaking brand new drone on its first power up going over and over in my head to what the hell happened, had that drone for 3 years and never experienced that again thankfully.. Yes that’s cold wind chill could find also with it being that cold the propellers would of been a lot stiffer too But no problem keep up the great content 😊
