It may not really matter. But, I'm considering adding screw in ground anchors that attach to the support structure before installing the wood on top. That way a crazy wind storm won't catch under my deck and cause damage.

at what point of the 4 step Scott program does the green max plan you demonstrated get applied?
@TheNeighborDominator2 күн бұрын
@smedina123s green max is a separate fertilizer that is not in the scotts 4 step plan. Step 3 is basically the same. It has food and iron in it. In this video i had not used the 4 step program yet. I just wanted a green up in the lawn and combined the two granular for a slow release of food and iron

Question please. I just purchased this unit and I’ve noticed that the brush head barely makes any contact with the surface I’m cleaning. Does your units brush head make good contact with the surface? Is there a way to adjust the wheels so the brush makes contact? I have an older unit that has no wheels and the brush head works very well. The wheels on this unit allow one to move the surface cleaner effortlessly but without much brush feature doing anything. Thank you for your input!
@TheNeighborDominator5 күн бұрын
@johnpublic438 the brush doesnt really scrub the dirt the water pressure gets it off that I've noticed. My brush just skims so the wheels glide easy

why wouldn't you hide the footing blocks so they don't stick out from the deck? This looks like a safety hazard for kids and others as well. Will you be building a step to cover it up or a post?

we can't really have an edge like that around our trees because a bunch of tree roots sticks up out of the ground
@TheNeighborDominator7 күн бұрын

Next time you do it since you said it’s your first time. I noticed when I did it that wetting the grass & using the edging tool gives a sharp clean cut edge. But I edged it slowly & rocked the edging tool from left to right slightly pushing towards the grass then I pulled the edging tool up but I didn’t completely take it out of the ground as I went down the line making my cut. And it turned out samurai sword sharp. Oh & I waited until the edge was dry before I put my dirt in. It turned out so neat looked very professional I shocked myself. lol

@Travisrogers8716 күн бұрын
Are you not concerned with the step height from the grass? 7.25inches for your 2x8, 1.5inches for the top face boards, and probably 3-4 inches for the floating gap from the grass. That’s 11-12 inches step up (and kids will run to that deck from the playground) whereas most steps are 6.5-7inches and IBC code maxes out at 7.5 inches. Pretty significant trip hazard and not a fun shin bruise either.
@TheNeighborDominator16 күн бұрын
It is a platform for us to sit on. There are steps to get down that were put in afterwards. The main reason foe the video was to show people that if you think you can't build a deck on your own you can and save a ton of money. It may not be up to a professional builder standards but it ha served my family well for under 700 dollars.
