He had a lot of people looking out for him. Coaches, athletic directors, teammates, etc. Even his coke dealer was like, "Um, you got a game on national tv, bruh. What are u doing?" Where is this?

I went to Middle School with Chris and I didn’t like him, he was an arrogant cocky teenager….now I’m sitting here crying amazed at how humble he is. Fall River was hit hard by heroin when I was younger, almost everyone I knew was on it and struggling. The methadone clinic behind Burger King had people outside of it all the time.

I bet he's doing it on purpose. He often does it during a powerful line by Herren. I think there were a few punks in on it, doing the same thing. They don't know who they're messing with. The force has methods.

I watched this in a family group recovery place with my son and my wife. Our son is there, and so grateful he is. I couldn't believe this story. I can't logically understand how he is alive, #1. #2, that he had to go through this, year after year. God bless his wife and family, and God bless him. The courage, persistence and humility is mind blowing. Thank you for sharing Chris!

Chris is such a great speaker. He chooses his words so wisely and they hit how they're supposed too! I wish I could speak in front of strangers the way he does, but unfortunately I just don't have that gift. I spent 10 years with the same devil and have a story to tell, but I wouldn't be able to get it out without stumbling over my words or crying. I've lost every single close friend due to addiction, but here I am, still living, 3 kids, a wife, a job, coaching my son's football team... I always wonder why and how I was the one that was able to make it out. I'll never know, but I wish my friends were still around so our kids could grow up together or we could sit by the fire, telling old stories. Instead, I'm the only one who knows about the path that we took. I've never really told anyone. That part of me is just hidden from the real world because people just wouldn't understand.

We watched unguarded in my health class. Before that I thought of drugs like it was something I’d be able to do once even though ever said that’s a lie. I will never think that way again because of his words, he has inspired me to be able to happily say no and stay away from drugs. I am glad I watched that. I can relate so much to you, im younger, im 26 but the first drug i ever did was shooting up heroin at 18, going to a clinic, staying clean for 4 years, fall back into alchool like an excuse to "celebrate" a night out and months later i was smoking crack....now...im battling with this shit...im working outside my country witch is portugal and when i come back...the first thing i do is go buying crack and believe me...i blow all my money, all on this shit...its like a vicious circle, then i go work outside stay clean, comeback...blow everything until i have no euros left!! Its just like this!! Man... you are an inspiration....thank you so much for your history...for everything...i will battle this! And i will win!

I went to listen to him speak recently for extra credit, but when I left I could have cared less about the credit. I appreciate being given the opportunity to listen to him tell his story. I was able to relate to it in some ways, and it was a good reminder that I am not my past and that I should not let it dictate my future. I appreciate that he took his time to honestly tell his story for the 9th time in a week, I know if I were him I would be too embarrassed of my past to tell it so many times. This is someone I genuinely believe every student and athlete should listen to.
