How senior does a verge editor have to be to stop an article being published? Doesn't seem particularly professional to be tweeting articles that haven't been read. Tweeting an article as an employee of the verge is part of the promotion process for it so they indirectly gave their blessing to the NDA being breached. Mentioning litigation in any form sounds like an arm twist because most folk who haven't gone through it before will be thinking oh shit

I don't agree with this video. A journalist's job is to bring awareness of things of public interest, not to be beholden to a corporation's wishes. Without the signing of a formal explict NDA, no journalist should be held to a corporation's wishes.

I find it incredible that in the year of our lord GabeN 2024, there are still people in positions of influence li(k)e our good friend Tom here, who don't seem to understand that when you're caught with your hand in the cookie jar, and you're asked if - yes or no - you had your hand in the cookie jar, that giving a whole spiel about how it would be wrong of you to talk about/imply they were doing something they shouldn't have been (WITHOUT EVER EVEN DENYING THEY WERE HAND-IN-JAR) only serves to implicate them faster than just fucking LYING about it. ESPECIALLY when the one who caught you with your hand in the jar is ALSO a person with a decently sized following who isn't just going to bend at the slight (misplaced) suggestion of anything involving potential legal concerns. But then we all know, really, why this has played out this way. Tom Warren was 100% A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y involved with the playtest. He's dodging the question because he KNOWS if he lies about it and gets caught out hes cooked (assuming the NDA holds water) and it could be used against him legally, but at the same time, if he owns up it can also be used against him. He's now in a lose-lose scenario with no recourse. His best bet would have been to shut up and keep his head down, this is the internet, there'll be another controversy next week and he'd have gotten away with it (despite those rotten kids), but once again we see hubris and undeserved confidence being the shattering of the mask. Keep it up Sid, TB would be proud.

Warren realized he could be liable, and he tried to white-wash the internet to remove any potential evidence. He probably coerced other KZfaqrs to remove their content, as well. I'd suggest you reach out to those Tom "reached out" to, and see if there's further evidence of Tom's "character."

Even if your Twitter account were to be deleted, I'd still follow you on Mastodon so… not exactly a clever move from Tom, here. It's a given that the moment you start writing publicly, as in, in order to be read by a general audience, you implicitely accept to be quoted and be subject to all sorts of abuse. I can't put it here because it references a person of a specific ethnic background being in dire need of a particular activity, mostly so he'll stop being such a ****head. I hope that brings a smile to your face. We don't always see eye to eye on certain issues, but I have never found fault with your journalistic ethics.
