Your video starts out right by my house. In fact, I lived there at the time you filmed it off of Price Rd. Would have been funny to see my own vehicle in your video.

I remember my son was a newborn when this happened. My boss came to my office and said “Leave now. Get home to your wife and baby.” On my drive home I watched storm roll in over interstate 75 in Lima, Ohio. Never felt my ears pop from a storm until that day.

I worked at The Advocate at the time and lived in Thornville. I remember seeing the storm marching our way, and I first noticed it because it delayed a Cubs game that afternoon I was planning to listen to while I worked. For a storm to march that far that fast was something I'd never seen. I truly had no grasp of the damage until I tried to get home. It was an obstacle course getting around everything. And as so many others have mentioned, that storm did nothing to lessen the heat. That is one of the hottest spells I can remember in my entire lifetime. Over a week later, the highs were 105 or more. Not the heat index, the actual highs.

A storm like that makes you question anytime there's bad weather rolling in. We don't like how they cut back/down so many trees in our neighborhood, but we haven't lost power again like that, so I guess it's worth it.

I've found this machine not to work on basic breads. I think it rose good once. Just tried again today and I used the basic and med setting and again it look like it fell and the crust is to dark. Not sure what this video showed, there was no end result.

Tooooo much has changed. Just like everywhere back east. I grew up on Buckeye Lake (not IN the town of Buckeye Lake, but only 3-4 miles to the east...). We took 79 into Heath all the time because my grandfather's factory was just past Southgate, to the right. My dad worked for him. And if course Moundbuilders... that was in LATE 1950s-early 1960s. Then we moved to Granville (when it was still a village w/3 grocery stores, each with their own butcher), and when I went back in 2005 for the 1st time since 1976, I cried my eyes out. But I was glad to return and resolve almost 40 years of severe homesickness. I was able to get a tour through our old house in Granville, which was SOO beautiful, but the best parts were just "let go". So, even got over that. But hwy 79 was EMPTY!!!! Pretty much NOTHING all the way to Heath! Is so sad...that area of Ohio was so great to grow up in. We moved west (Colorado then Wyoming - where I have remained for over 40 years) when I was 12. I feel bad so much is lost. Maybe I see "progress" in a different light.

I hear you! Was your grandpa at Rockwell? It became Arvin Meritor later, but they closed and the building was razed recently. I went back to Illinois and went to The town where I grew up. So many old homes are gone, replaced by big houses of a totally different architectural style and straining to fit the original lots they're built on. My childhood home was gone, replaced by a McMansion taking up both sides of the double lot. As Kurt Vonnegut said, "And so it goes... " 🙄

@@Gardenwife @@Gardenwife I lived on Buckeye Lake from 1956-1961, moving then to Granville until we moved west (WAYYY west..) in 1969. Our home was HUGE, very old, and beautiful. When my mom sold it (it didn't actually sell until sometime in 1970) it sold for $29k!!!! Can you imagine???? HUGE living room, large parlor (which was our den/gun room), giant country kitchen & formal size dining room on main floor (& a full bath..). 6 bedrooms & full bath on 2nd story. Full enormous basement and full house attic with hard wood flooring. I doubt you could touch it now for less than $400k. If even that. It is a comfort to grab hold of the memories and let go of the irretrievably. 🌷💝

I lived in Sistersville WV when this happened, I was 11 in bible school when the teachers told us to get downstairs and that it was a tornado. Our power was out for more than a week, seeking refuge in the local fire department building. The storm also took down a massive oak tree in my grandmother’s yard. I’m surprised nobody was hurt by it honestly

We just outside of Hebron city limits lost our power until July 7th. Fortunately, we had a working generator and I got a fairly new window unit ac (110) that was stored in the garage. If not for that, we would've probably had to sleep in the cars. Kroger, however looked like the apocalypse had come through, never seen it that stripped before!
