The only way that could possible happen is if the dev added it into the game, which while stupid, would make it “not” a bug

honestly i really like the desig i just think the sprite fails in some aspects (mostly its idle animation) and prefer the remake for its spriting. though i dont play it because the soul physics are worse. Not gonna knock you for points on any of your points... But I honestly think an normal mode and EZ mode should exist. EZ mode keeps the checkpoint but doesn't let you progress past sanses 2nd phase. And Normal is everything without checkpoints. Most of undertale and deltarune is learning from your mistakes and enacting muscle memory when evading, and the fact the developer included an checkpoint you can't disable is honestly disheartening: If people quit your game due to the difficulty and it came from a place of love? And others can still succeed? More power to the developer in my honest opinion...

Nice vid I can think of a couple of reasons why the attack patterns are the way they are 1. He lazy 2.He might be saving his stronger attacks later like the ones in the original fight 3.I think he wants to just talk and not to kill you
