With the paper mill in Canton closed, where are all those cars going? I know there's a couple industries in/near Sylva still being served and the chemical plant and packaging place in Waynesville, but I don't remember those places getting more than a handful/half dozen cars at a time, and only 2-3 times a month.

Maybe take you a trip to the area sometime and find out lol. Did you see the video of two NS locos climbing the loops recently with one boxcar? And guess what I seen the same boxcar sitting in fletcher business park near where I work.

I thought the paper mill in Canton shut down last summer? I know there's a couple other industries BRS serves in Waynesville and Sylva, but they don't get that many cars.

This was around 9am. T31 came into Asheville yesterday late I think and returned this morning. I just happened to hear the horn at Louisiana Ave and was able to catch it.

I bet those autoracks are the ones that's been stored in Asheville for a while. I hope rail traffic picks up again in AVL. I am glad I didn't get hired in AVL as a conductor because I would have been layed off or had to transfer somewhere.

Wished NS would use the Salisbury wye and the River Line for that train & others. Only train on it anymore is 135 & 136.

Wonderful! Fifty years ago if we went trackside after highschool we were treated to a south bound (in bound in New Orleans) southern railway freight with two SD45's splicing an SD35. They would throw us old train orders. An SD45 long hood forward was an event! If we stayed we sometimes would get GM&O following. It would have three GP units usually GP30/35 mix. First time I saw the red GP38 trio(GM&O) I thought they were space age locomotives. Thanks for your video.
